"Do I like having shrimp thrown at me? I sure do" is the line of the day for me.

Shrimp? In this economy my local places just throw pieces of egg now.

My local place just throws pieces of dirt at you, such is the economy.

I had the same thing happen at a teppanyaki place recently. I was the only one at the table applauding the chef while he was doing the onion volcano and the behind-the-back spatula catch. Nobody else even looked up from their phones when he lit the entire griddle on fire. What's wrong with people these days? Not only should you put your damn phone away, but show some respect to the guy trying his hardest to be entertaining while cooking you your meal.

Even worse when you're eating out and she's just laid there playing on her phone.

They're very popular in the united states. Hibachi is a communal dining experience in which a chef cooks on a large grill in front of 6-10 people. The cooking process is full of jokes and tricks and displays of pretty excellent coordination. You should go!

Usually I'm being social, not on my phone 🤷🏽

I grew up going to Hibachi and think that's so rude. I mean I'm 32 (millennial) and know way better than that. When I go out to eat, I'll scroll on my phone while I wait for my meal, appetizer or dessert. Once my plate comes to the table, that's when I put it down and eat and chat with who I'm with.
