Ruins all relationships. I will die on this hill

This is true. And as far as my relationship goes, I get that he can't reply instantly. The olny times I would ask for it is if I think I might need something from him. If he's staying home and I'm going to the grocery store I'll ask him to be available just in case I call or text to see if we have something. Don't wanna waste the money of I do and even if I make a list sometimes ill look at a good price and want to know if it's worth buying it. Or the times that my dad was in the hospital and I asked him to be available just in case I needed him for anything there. Otherwise, get to me when you get to me. We live together anything else that's not a matter of an emergency or a matter of practically can wait.

It is literally the reason I have broken up with my past 2 partners. And I communicated to them before we started dating that I wouldn't be able to see them as much as they may like, and that I have other people in my life I will need to prioritise over my partner Sometimes. But it doesn't matter. They are upset if you go a couple days without seeing them and freak out if you don't text them every couple hours even if you're working. People aren't meant to be this codependent on each other. Yes, it works for some, but not everyone. And you try to find the people who are the same as you, and they claim they're okay with it. But when it comes down to it, they are not and it is making dating in this time feel impossible.

I agree with you. But consistency is something I value, it's kind of an unhealthy need, & if someone gets in a routine, I need them to stick with it. Because any variation could send me spiraling. I think communicating honestly and following thru can prevent misunderstandings.
