Using cringe in your sentence is cringe. amirite?
by Anonymous2 days ago
It's just Gen Z speak. When I was growing up, we probably said something like, "That movie made me cringe," but not "That movie was cringe." It's just been converted into a noun and adjective. It's dumb, but in thirty years, their kids will be making fun of that use of cringe too.

That's how I feel about 'woke'. Use it, I tune out instantly.

Cringe is still a normal word that you may use in everyday language

As a noun, yes. As an adjective, nah. But this phenomenon is actually a symptom. The root issue is these people are obsessed with online approval from total strangers.

Cringe... gross.... yikes.... tell me without telling me... imagine.... "... got it".... yea they're all just copy/paste minds that let the internet recalibrate them. Oh you've dated!? let me guess, your ex is a narcissist. Oh wait, no thats not fresh enough. Is your ex an avoidant? There we go... look at how current and special you are. You can tell how much scrolling time a person has by how quickly they adopt the word of the week.
