+121 If corporations can be legal entities we need legal punishments for them. amirite?

what evidence do you have that fines alone do not work? Also if someone in a company chooses to hire a kill squad and it gets found out it's crazy that you think the corporation should be punished and not the person (as they would be legally liable now).

Maybe the fact that all major banks are consistently caught comitting fraud and laundering money for drug cartels, sex traffickers, and illegal military/intelligence operations? They get fined and do it again. Wells Fargo is objectively a criminal organization.

Hey, that's offensive to criminal organizations, at least the criminals have morals.

It's not that simple when people's livelihoods and supporting industries are at stake.

I'd be more surprised if they didn't than if they did.

They have been proven to do so hundreds of times. Chiquita banana is responsible for over 100,000 deaths.

Manslaughter squads

by Anonymous 2 days ago

Oh, yes they do. Banana corporations went so far as to collaborate with the CIA to overthrow entire governments in central America. The most powerful companies will absolutely kill to keep the profit line green

They definitely should hold CEOs and other high level people responsible for hiring hit squads. Not so sure about shutting companies down, even for a limited time. That would have huge effects for employees who might have had nothing to do with what happened, as well as customers and other companies that depend on them to do business. Cloud flare goes down for a couple hours and half the internet breaks. Imagine shutting them down for a month. Imagine shutting down a major oil company for a month and how that would screw everything over.
