Well if you don't like something, that must mean people who say they like it are lying, because its not possible for people who like things that you don't like Its a special type of arrogance people like you have.

Just because you don't like something popular doesn't mean that everybody else is pretending to like it. And you don't need to like or dislike something based on the popularity of the thing.

Discovering that people have different tastes:

If you don't like them, fine, but "people only do because they have been told to" isn't an unpopular opinion, it's just dumb.

Shut up

So because you don't like them, everyone else is fronting. Delulu.

You being young is part of it, but not in a "you're too young to know" kind. You're just discovering the diversity of tastes. Lots of people never liked the experimental and drawn out music of the 60s and 70s even then, like Zeppelin, the Doors or Jefferson Airplane. That being said, they were successful in their own right and artistically influential.

Who told you you should like them

Why are you talking to people about your dislike of the band? You're getting pushback because you're hating on something people love. Just let it be

Nor me, curiously, and I'm 75 and was in college in the UK when the blues boom of the late 60s and was besotted with the original Fleetwood Mac with Peter Green and Cream and many others. I don't know why I liked some but disliked others. Who does?

I mean, people may check them out as they are renowned as a classic band but they aren't exactly going to pretend if they hate them. And there isn't anything offensive or bad about them, it is classic bluesy heavy rock which they do very well. They fit in context into musical history that maybe as a young person has got missed. I don't really like Pink Floyd but they are classic and can appreciate why people like it. Who should people be listening to instead?

Nah, John Paul Jones is mediocre. His only good bass line is in Immigrant Song. The rest is just passable.
