+36 Looks matter regardless who you are and where you go, amirite?

When you look for a mechanic, or plumber, or HVAC guy are you wanting headshots first before deciding who to go with?

If they all cost the same as others, the good looking ones will get more business. Was this supposed to be some kinda gotcha?

If they all cost the same, I want the one who I think can do the best job. My point is that I would consider their skill before their looks.

Beyond that, you're absolutely more likely to rate a good looking tradesman as having been more approachable, better customer service, etc.

Remember - Sling Blade was a great mechanic.

That would be great actually. I'll take the guy who doesn't look methed up or hammered.

How do you know who can fix your AC unit? You probably evaluate them on a number of factors. How they present themselves online, for instance. I'm a google ratings guy myself.

It is true that looks matter, it's also true that shallow people will treat you worse if you don't meet their standards (the normal ones won't really care as long as you're keeping good hygiene and generally don't look too out of place). On the flipside, good looks don't always guarantee success. Attractive people are having bad things happen to them just because they're attractive.

All facts. But society loves to blanket logic with politically correct terminology. So most people don't want to LOOK vain, they'll say looks don't matter. But most people forget, that the first thing a human does before talking to another human, is they have to SEE and LOOK at that human from afar, first. Nobody's ever looked at a stranger from afar for the first time and said to themselves "man I bet their personality is awesome let me go approach them" lol.

Obviously looks matter. But an ugly person who is confident and kind is way more likable and sexy than a good looking person who is an insecure asshole. Looks matter a lot, but choosing to love yourself and improve yourself and do your best makes you infinitely better off and infinitely happier than getting yourself down about it and dwelling on the negative side of things. Life ain't "fair" and it never will be. Some of the most beautiful people I've ever met are depressed and insecure. Everyone has struggles. If you honestly love yourself and love life, people are drawn to that. It's attractive.
