Artists shouldn't be responsible for high concert ticket prices, amirite?
by Anonymous2 days ago
Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand if you sell out a stadium at $1000 a ticket then good for you. On the other hand that is just crazy. Im glad I saw Taylor Swift live for free back in the day before she popped off.

Musicians? Yes. It's rare to remain relevant for even a decade. He's got his family, retirement, and the rest of his life to worry about.

So you're telling me someone need 4 millions a month for that?
by Anonymous2 days ago
Even the 1-2 million is a lot more than a person needs, however the point still stands that whoever is performing is ultimately walking away with a massive payout compared to a regular person

i mean, yep.. they are a famous, successful individual in the entertainment industry. yes they will gain more as people are more entertained

Working within the entertainment industry? Yes. That amount is gross earnings. It doesn't include the salaries of the production crew, various fees, taxes, marketing, travel, equipment, legal, etc. It's not like Bad Bunny himself is handed $4m all to himself. There's a lot of overhead. Plus, with his popularity, he can't just live in a regular home like the rest of us. He and his family will need security for decades to come. Even B list celebrities get mobbed by fans & paparazzi whenever they step outside. There are a lot of unhinged psychos out there. It's expensive to live at that level of exposure.

Those numbers were pulled from profit, after overhead but not before taxes. It's still too much money for one person and he or anyone else would be perfectly fine with a lot less. It can very well be reduced given the multiple sources of income they always gave.

It's still too much for one person… Based on what? Who decides how much is too much? Do you want to cut people off once they become successful and force them to perform for free?
