What you want doesn't matter. No matter what path in life you choose most people find that the older you get the more quickly time seems to pass. There are things you can do to counter this but few people do them. Add variety in your life, spend time in more meaningful pursuits where you're mindful and present. Your anxiety doesn't matter, life happens in the real world not in your head. The more you focus on your emotions the more control they have over you. If you want life to feel fuller and longer you shouldn't be wasting your time on social media, go find a mountain to climb and after you've climbed that find another adventure for tomorrow.

It is true though and the longer you are on earth the shorter each moment of time is. You will get to a point with something where you think damn it really has been X amount of years and it doesn't really feel that "long"

At least where I live and my community, they say it as a way of comfort. Especially when entering school, saying "school will be over before you know it" which doesn't help at all.

Interesting, we have the same exact saying but from here it's supposed to underline how quickly youth disappears and to appreciate it while you still have it, albeit in a dark humor sort of way.
