OP what exactly do you mean…? What are the differences between monitors and TVs that you think the TVs should shed? Are you aware that Smart TVs aren't the only ones sold?

TVs these days are all in one media players for people who only want one device for various streaming services etc. Just because you want to plug in an external device, doesn't mean everyone else does. I have a very nice tv and have my PlayStation and switch 2 plugged into it. Guess what I do? Use the built in apps because it's quicker.

meanwhile, we all just plug in some external device to do that stuff No, we all don't. I use the apps directly on my tv, because I can press one button on one remote and have the tv instantly power up to that app.
