Backup QB is better, you get paid way more to do nothing except show up, or play when your team has absolutely no expectations

Except in those situations where you are called on and are then required to preform the most difficult position in all of sports lol I'm really just referring to positions of active, starting players at all levels of football, not just in the NFL. If we are including backups and only considering pros, then backup OG would probably be better because you're probably going to have a more stable contract than a backup QB and guards are less injury prone than QBs.

This is a hard disagree. Long snapper is a tough unsung job, we don't really notice until they screw up. But I wouldn't say they are the hardest job on the field in any sense. Mostly because they are a special team position, and aside from kicker, they're just not on the field enough to claim that. Nor is it by far the safest position on the field, As when you're long snapping for a punt, you're now on defense helping try to make the tackle. My best friend was a college long snapper and got hurt in his first game. He was an incredible lineman and truly a gifted long snapper. But one blindside hit, he was knocked out, mangled his shoulder and that was that.

I can see your argument.

Wow. Do you really think someone makes it to the NFL by just being a long-snapper? They make it to the NFL by being exceptional at the position they played on defense and/or offense. They just happened to be an experienced long-snapper which kept them in the NFL.

Nope. Hasn't been true for decades.

What are you talking about?

Even nfl starting centers can't long snap consistently well and say how it's very difficult to be decent at even for them

Just because they're dedicated long-snappers doesn't mean they aren't capable of playing other positions.

At the NFL level? They might as well be. They're definitely in good enough shape to play other positions, but in terms of the sheer amount of knowledge and skill of a specific position that is required at the NFL level, they don't come close. Same goes for other positions playing LS. No other player on a roster is ripping back a 0.65 without years and years of experience and dedication to the position.

They're definitely in good enough shape to play other positions This is exactly my point.

No, it was that they made the NFL by playing another position, and just happened to also be good at Long Snapping, which is false. Even if that was your original point, being in good enough shape to play another position by no means indicates you can play that position in any capacity. Stick a Long Snapper out at MLB during an NFL game and he'd have absolutely no clue what he was doing.
