You know people have zero control over whether they snore or not?

I feel you wrote this after not being able to sleep last night from someone snoring
by dickifranco11 hours ago
And what are we supposed to do about it, exactly?
by Anonymous10 hours ago
Get tested for sleep apnea, change their sleep positions, nasal strips, sleep in a separate room. Do SOMETHING. If you're not making some effort you're just being inconsiderate.

Get tested for sleep apnea Which is a completely unrelated condition. change their sleep positions How to do that whilst you're asleep. oral strips What even is that? sleep in a separate room. You sleep in a different room. Do SOMETHING Why don't you? If you're not making some effort you're just being inconsiderate. You're not making any effort.

The onus is not on them. If somebody is aware they're making noise that prevents others from sleeping, they have a moral responsibility to address it. My neighbour kept me awake for years because his snoring was so loud I could hear it through the floor. We tried ear plugs, sleeping in different rooms. Nothing helped. It's a very treatable condition and people who know they do it should do that for the good of those around them.

How is it treatable?

Get tested for sleep apnea Don't have it change their sleep position My body will automatically choose its preferred position while I'm unconscious oral strips Tf is that? sleep in a separate room Right, I'll just buy a larger house. It was so simple all along!

How is that their problem they can't control that
by Anonymous9 hours ago
You're right, if people are made aware that they snore and don't attempt to address it, it is inconsiderate. I think though, rather than crying on here, you need to talk to your partner or family member.

Who's babying loud snorers

I had a neighbour who kept me up for years because of this and you are 100% correct.

I agree. If someone is a loud snorer and hasn't been able to address it, they should refrain from sleeping within earshot of someone who hasn't emphasized that they don't mind. Snoring isn't rude. Knowing you snore loudly and sleeping around someone unassuming is.
