+72 If you shake my hand hard asf. I immediately don't like you, amirite?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

As a man, I also hate when other men do this

by Anonymous 1 week ago

This is where brass knuckles would come in useful

by Madelinejohnsto 1 week ago

Not for fisticuffs, just to thwart the squeeze.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Not unreasonable

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yeah, for real. Nobody likes that bro who wants to make a handshake a contest of masculinity. Decent, firm handshake. Two shakes, release. Not complicated!

by Overall-Link 1 week ago

I'm a reasonably average size man and I think the same, anyone who does this is an instant twat, especially sales people.

by StrictPaint2481 1 week ago

Firm handshake? Yes. Gorilla gripping to assert dominance or whatever the hell you're doing? Why?!

by Difficult-West1864 1 week ago

I don't think this is an unpopular opinion

by Anonymous 1 week ago

You shaking hands with the hulk or some

by Comfortable-Mud 1 week ago

Some dudes seem to think so.

by bnikolaus 1 week ago

I think most men instinctively grip a woman's hand far less firm than they would grip a man's hand. How often is this happening to you? Do you work in the business world? How often are you shaking hands with men?

by AdCultural 1 week ago

When I was young. a lot. Lot of fools do it then try to play off a "don't know my own strength" With age and marriage they aren't trying to impress me and it's faded away. Its also been a while since someone tried to caress my hand sleezily during a handshake, that was worse than the too strong ones. The sneaky palm caress being the grossest. I have to assume gross dudes are still being gross to young women unfortunately.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yeah this seems like BS. I might give certain women a firm handshake but never am I actually squeezing hard. Maybe some guys are trying to show off to her though? I have had a couple of guys squeeze my hand hard enough to hurt and it always seems like theyre showing off.

by Immediate-Team 1 week ago

It's the opposite for me, a floppy handshake makes me immediately... suspicious

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I generally go for a gentle handshake, but got the grip of a rock climber lmao. Whenever someone tries to shatter my palm, I always return the gesture in kind and generally win in a landslide

by littlejared 1 week ago

I hate the hard shake with sharp pull in tug.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I don't know any Men that do this when shaking hands with Women but when I shake hands with other Men, I give them a good firm grip and expect one in return.

by alexie28 1 week ago

It's just a handshake mate, not a dick measuring contest.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Good to set expectations on other people, perfectly reasonable ones to. Very important 🙄

by Anonymous 1 week ago

The most frequent one I go to is a cat restaurant so I don't fully not expect that...

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Cats are not people. And with that response, im now questioning if you're a person. Wtf is a cat restaurant

by Anonymous 1 week ago

It's an exaggeration to prove a point. Let's step back. How about someone staring at you for way too long?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I'm a woman and for some reason I shake hands really hard. I don't even think about it till it's too late. Idk my own strength or something 😔

by Anonymous 1 week ago

They don't think it'll make them like you, they think that it shows dominance.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Skill issue

A firm handshake is better than a limp one. It's just that firm means different things to different people. I'm a mason. I've got strong hands. I always try to use less force with little people but it's far from an exact science.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Yea it's annoying but honestly I still prefer this over that weird limp wristed half hand holding thing that some guys do instead of a handshake. It's so weird, just shake my damn hand.

by kacinikolaus 1 week ago

Now this I agree on only downside is some people are use to shaking like that or just don't realize I've done it sometimes without realizing I've learn to just position my hand in the handshake and not squeeze

by Heidenreichsaig 1 week ago

Firm: good Strong: bad

Same!

Showing restraint is the hallmark of society. Chill your jets, commando

by meda49 1 week ago

This asshole at my church would actively try to hurt me. He'd do something that made my knuckles rub together. I don't know how to describe it. I was a kid and didn't feel like I could speak up at the time. I doubt he did that to any adults, though.

We should do whatever the Japanese do. I bet the Japanese don't shake hands. Let's just bow. Why do I have to touch your ass wiping hand?

by assunta53 1 week ago

This happened to me recently, I couldn't believe how hurtful it was, I said ow quite loudly and immediately. He apologized, but I couldn't understand what was wrong with him.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Maybe they are nervous

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Thank you. "Firm" does not mean vice grip.

by Alyciajakubowsk 1 week ago

Grip strength is a biomarker for longevity

by arveldooley 1 week ago

It's traditional etiquette to match a woman's grip intensity when shaking hands. A firm handshake is expected from one man to another.

by bogisichjoesph 1 week ago

Handshakers should match their partners strength. It should be firm but not crushing. Preferably hands are bone dry

by leslyledner 1 week ago

When men do it, it's a sign of insecurity

by roobderek 1 week ago

Ya know what I really enjoy.......when you shake my hand after scratching your nuts

by sophiegislason 1 week ago

sniffs

by WinnerIllustrious701 1 week ago

You sound swell to be around ❤️

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Real. Men do be expressing their insecurities in weird ways. Just dont ket them touch you

by Aggressive_Rock_1624 1 week ago

Everything aside. Thinking that a handshake is "a way to touch women" is actually insane and you need some psychological help.

by Lonely_Ground 1 week ago

No im saying that the need to express masculinity dominance by hirting others displays insecuritt

by Aggressive_Rock_1624 1 week ago

What a weakling

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Some tradesmen just have superhuman grip strength. Comes with the territory, I suppose. Can't expect them to torque a nut down to spec with their thumb and index finger, then offer you a considerate handshake. Sales people on the other hand....

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Why do people want to touch strangers so badly? Handshakes should have died with grandma during covid

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Sign of respect or greetings anyway it's still common these days whenever it's in bad or good way but yeah I don't wanna imagine how much bacteria a hand collects

by Anonymous 1 week ago

All the bacteria. All of it. I just scratched my ass mid typing.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Now you gotta go shake someone's hand

by Jakayla24 1 week ago
