Working at the office is more effective and better for most people than remote work, amirite?

If your job is the only place that you get social interaction, that's entirely your fault

I think anyone with small children would easily agree.

I agree. Then again I also would have a hell of a time giving up my remote job. I think in my city the commuting burden outweigh the benefits you mentioned. Or at least they would cancel out. It's probably a solid two hours of my day that would be committed it. I think hybrid would be pretty cool. But that's not really as practical for companies because then they're paying for space they're not utilizing all the time.

I fully agree with hybrid, hence the 3/5. There are plenty of occasions where i have doctors appointments, kids stuff etc. Which makes work commute extremely inconvenient and in those occasions i am more productive for my employer if i work the day from home. This is more of a general thing

I agree with this. I feel way more productive when I'm physically around others. If I can access my bed I'm laying in it

Not everyone wants to deal with office politics or trying to concentrate while people around them talk. You sound just like the kind of person that would make me want to work from home.

Do y'all not have like Slack or any other messaging systems?

I will say that if you're training someone, or being trained, that's definitely a lot more difficult to do over Zoom than in person. We have a hybrid arrangement at my company, and it works fine. In any event, if you're that upset about RTO policies you're going to have to find an employer willing to let you work remotely. I don't know what else to say.

Yeah, nothing forms close bonds like being forced into the office just to be on zoom calls all day.

All these "benefits" are for the employer and not the employee though.

To be honest, I am more productive at home than in the office since I don‘t get distracted by others. When you start a conversation they can go on for a long time
