It's artistic license. Compared to reality, screens are small. The audience wants to see the cool thing their character is holding

IIRC It's also the reason why the weapons are not called what they're called in real life. E.g. M5K and not MP5K in BF3, M416 and not HK416, so on.

It's "Moon" logic. Actual photographs of the moon (as seen from cameras on the ground) don't look big. Photographers have to amp it up (telephoto lens etc) to make it "feel" more real, as the human eye interprets it. Real bodycam footage also doesn't feel cool: the arms are too long, weapon detail is low. Game artists amp it up to abide by the rule of cool.

How are body cams relevant to the discussion? The overwhelming majority of FPS games have you see the world through the playable character's eyes. Not through a body cam. Either way I prefer for the game to treat perspective realistically. It really enhances immersion.

I disagree but I get what they're saying. In a FPS game you're seeing from a body cam perspective so they alter things to match perception. It's still bad to do
