Today is 9/16/25 or (3x3) (4x4) (5x5) and how often does that happen! I love Numbers! amirite?
by Anonymous1 week ago
There are two others 1/4/09 4/9/16 9/16/25 Repeating every century
by Successful-Lime-10391 week ago
Thank you! Very concisely expressed.

It's the Pythagorean theorem expressed as a date.

2025-09-16 => 452 = 32 + 42 + fudge And that kids is how I failed maths
by Anonymous1 week ago
Oh wow, 2025 is also a perfect square, cool
by Anonymous1 week ago
But the accurate expression of that date 20250927 does not.

This date format is vulnerable to the Y2K problem. This date format is not ISO 8601 compliant.
by TwoSlow41981 week ago
The Y2K problem had nothing to do with the date format and entirely to do with data storage limits. Well, ok, it was a format issue, but the only problem was that the year part of the date was written as two numbers, which was often done to save space. Technically speaking, the order didn't matter at all. The year could have been in the second spot, and there wouldn't have been an issue. ISO prevents the Y2K problem, but it is in no way needed to do so.

One could say: 2025/09/16: 52 = 32 + 42
by Graciekertzmann1 week ago
TIL that 52 = 452
by bashirianclark1 week ago
If we just use the last 2 digits of the year it'd be every 100, not 1000
by Anonymous1 week ago
I see you've noticed I'm an idiot…shh don't tell anyone
by Anonymous1 week ago
That's still three squared numbers: 42 32 452

It makes sense for the same reason. And that does not happen daily. Seems like you're grasping for excuses to feel superior.
by Anonymous1 week ago
are you american by any chance
by dibbertrosina1 week ago
yea i could tell the american's JUMPPPPING out of ya mate
by dibbertrosina1 week ago
Troll
by Anonymous1 week ago
How and more importantly, why would I feel superior about this. This has nothing to do with me.
by Anonymous1 week ago
That just means you acted like a jerk but didn't even get the benefit of feeling superior.

If you use European dates there are even fewer for ascending squares In the US you can have 9/16/25 as valid but in Europe 9/16/25 is invalid because we don't have 16 months

Today is 16/9/25. And Asperger sent 800 disabled children to be starved, beaten and killed.

I like that in one of Mr Bungle's older songs, Mike says 1, 4, 9 instead of 1, 2, 3
by Amanitorphy1 week ago
If you consider that 3x3 + 4x4 = 5x5 then the answer is: This will only happen once every century. Fermat's famous theorem shows that there are no other natural numbers where the sum of powers of two numbers is equal to the power of another number.
by lockmansarina1 week ago
I had noticed the month and date were unique while writing the date at work today, just didn't think about the year
by Ibashirian1 week ago
It happens just like any other number, it's only significant if you want it to be
by Lebsackkarley1 week ago
how often does that happen? I don't know, what do you mean by "that"?
