Yes. Largely you only get out of education what you put in. I have friends that worked hard and did internships and they have a lot more fulfilling careers than others. Also you have a lot of people who are like "They should have taught us how to file taxes in school!" A 1040 is basically a 3rd grade math worksheet. Anyone could fill one out. You were definitely taught the skills to do it.

I've heard so many students brag about how they skipped so many classes and dodged most the work. Then they're surprised they didn't learn anything. If students want to make a college experience into a waste of time, they will.

I used the skills developed through doing adegree on a daily basis. It's shocking how few people have research skills, the ability to compose an evidenced based opinion or a written argument, or recognize enough words to comprehend a legal or professional document. I did an arts degree and work in business tosay. I was able to work my way up because of the time I spent in university.

Yes. And most college students are not pushed as hard as they could be.

If it's not about getting a job just read books and write essays on your blog as a hobby. The only reason to pay their extortionate tuition is the hope of a better job.

This would imply companies are loyal to their employees and hire people who work hard and learn. They don't.

Nobody's promoting the mail room worker to do anything beyond supervise the mail room. The entry level workers in most white collar jobs are college graduates.

Most companies will not hire someone for a white collar job without a 4 year degree. If you do get hired and do not have a degree generally your salary will be capped way lower than someone with a degree.

U don't get the white collar job. You take whatever crap job they have them learn what you need, connect with the decision makers and move up organically. If you're smart enough to get the degree this approach just takes more initiative.

Moving up like you said is not possible in most companies without a 4 year degree.

If you can pass without doing the work, it is not an education. It is a way to prepare docile wage laborers.
