How is it selfish to write a movie from the main character's perspective? Are male centered movies also selfish because they cater to men?

OP said it was selfish to write a movie that way, which implies they have serious issues with empathy since they can't either just let things be for someone else, or watch it through their eyes themselves. ALL women have the skill of watching media through someone else's eyes, since such a giant majority of it caters to the male perspective Or it did in the 20th century anyhow, there have been some positive developments on that front in recent times
