I love you is a very common phrase since you say it almost everyday (or at least some people) and therefore it gets old fast, so at moments when you love your partner a lot, like feeling giddy with them or meeting them after a long time and you feel and overwhelming feeling of love towards them, would you still use the same old phrase that you used to use when you left home for work at day time only to return at evening? If not "I love you so much" How else are you supposed to express that this very moment, you're in love with them more so than ever, feeling more affectionate towards them and want them to know that? The simple "I love you" means a lot too when used by those who don't express their love in words more often but those who use it often might need something else when they feel more affectionate be it Ilym or whichever.

I hate it too. Idk why, I just do. I think I hate the word "much," and mainly the ugly ass "ch" sound. Same with the word "lunch," but not words like "bunch." Hm.
