+22 I prefer Humidity over dry heat, amirite?

by Anonymous 3 hours ago

Yup. High humidity makes sweat an insulator instead of a conductor for excess body heat.

Dry heat wins. Feels like a hairdryer, not a swamp. No instant sweat puddles, clothes don't stick, hair stays decent. Humidity is just atmospheric suffocation.

I'm east coast born and raised but I went to the Mojave desert a couple years ago and my hair had never looked so good in my effing life.

Isn't it great that different people enjoy different climates? This way the wold's population spreads nicely over almost all climate zones on this planet. It would get pretty crowded in some places if it weren't so. :)

You feel sweaty in humid climates because the sweat doesn't evaporate, nothing cleansing about it. It stays on you in a dirty film. It is actually cleansing in a dry climate because it evaporates and that's what cools you off. In the dry air you sweat a lot and it is whisked away as it cools you. In humid air you sweat the same amount but it covers you without going anywhere.

100%, and a humid summer rain is the greatest feeling in the world

I love humidity, makes my body feel great

Same. I understand why people don't like humidity, but I prefer it. It's like a blanket. And like you said, when there's humidity, there's not those stark temperature changes between night and day, which I absolutely hate. I hate being in CA and having to wear a jacket at night even in the middle of summer.

Humidity makes me feel like I'm in soup. I guess it's your choice if you prefer soup over oven.

How much time would you say you spend outside each day?

Why does everybody talk about humid vs dry like it's the other person's first day on earth?
