I think managers are often very important positions to fill. They're ideally like an orchestra conductor or a general representative. I think the issue is when they are not seen as co-equal to all other positions and become above reproach. It's just another role, and people should be on board with their coordinator if they trust that person. The problem is it becomes a superiority and hierarchy issue, not so much a managerial one.

There is a huge difference between a place where you are volunteering your time and actually being paid to work. Also volunteer opportunities are often terribly coordinated with so much wasted time and lack of direction. In short, most businesses should not try to emulate that. I also think it's crazy that even in a system where you can call out by literally deleting yourself on your phone it would still be ok to no show 4 times (fired after 5). That is wild and disrespectful to your co workers.

surprisingly it was actually well organized i even tried to get a job there π but i guess that's just one place and i didn't want to make the original text so long but once you delete your name everyone who isn't scheduled for that day will get a notification of a open shift and it's first come first serve tbh

There's also a hundred other things a manager is responsible for, since they basically run the place, that someone else already listed some of them, but have workers making their lives that much more difficult isn't cool. Don't be one of those workers and they would treat you decently (or should). Also, I doubt "Therapy Allowance" is in their paychecks π

People being paid barely enough to want to be there. And im not talking about the cashier. I'm talking about counting out the drawers, taking care of the safe, and preparing the bank deposit. As for cleaning, if you've ever had a health inspector visit, you will see the stuff they find that people just didn't clean because no one was going through with a checklist and making people clean.
