We had a mandatory US Government class in 12th grade that walked through things like the Bill of Rights and significant Supreme Court cases.

Boils down to most teachers don't know that stuff either, and most districts aren't going to be willing to pay someone qualified to teach it.

If you ever take time to learn or research it...the U.S education was not set up to build success. Education is one thing, failure is another. You say "knowledge" but knowledge in some aspects doesn't necessarily mean success. Also, this would be a valid argument if we were saying, in the 1990s but we live in an age where YouTube can teach you virtually anything for free anyway. Not to mention, if a person wants to, it doesn't cost much if anything to learn something on your own.
