+64 Manicures and pedicures shouldn't be required for women to look "presentable.", amirite?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

So interesting! While most of my female friends have polished nails, there are still plenty who don't. It never occurred to me to think they are lazy and not put together! My aunt is the biggest fashionista of all time. Designer clothes, expensive jewelry, gets her hair blown out once a week, never gets mani pedis 🤷‍♀️

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yea this opinion is more of a "who you talk to/socialize with" thing. I've never felt that I need a mani/pedi to look presentable. It has never felt required to me, and I am woman who has worked in professional settings.

by Both_Excitement 1 day ago

Also, what job are people looking closely enough at your feet to notice if you've had a pedicure?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

…and most professional jobs frown upon open toe shoes.

by Both_Excitement 1 day ago

Is it a regional thing? I live in the northeast and the amount of women who do not get their nails done exceeds the amount that do. At least in my woman dominated office.

by Good-Effect-5598 1 day ago

Nails are the only "feminine" thing that I absolutely cannot hack. I love makeup, I love fashion, I put so much time and money into my hair. I cannot figure out nails, despite how badly I want to. Every time I've consistently gotten them done at a salon they will drill into my nails to the point where they're hitting skin, then I'm just in pain for months. How does that always happen to me and seemingly to no one else? The press ons don't last more than a day, nor does polish. I feel like I'm missing something. So it's definitely not laziness for me, just sheer confusion 🥲

by Flat-Channel-8896 1 day ago

People noticing you got your nails done and showing appreciation is absolutely not the same as expecting them to be done and silently judging you if they're not. I notice and compliment vivid haircolor (and see/hear it complimented all the time) and I'd never think vivid haircolor is aome beauty standard I'm being judged against.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yeah, I compliment people with cute nails because if they decided to get their nails done than THEY must value cute nails, so complimenting them is just a nice way to make them feel good about something they care about. It doesn't mean I think worse of someone whose nails aren't painted.

by udaugherty 1 day ago

If a former stripper and gardener tells me a beauty trick to get something to last you better believe I'm listening. Thank you!

by Flat-Channel-8896 1 day ago

same!! i hate getting a fake set (ex: gel tips) because then they just feel stuck to my real nails forever and i can never seem to pry them off once they've run their course. not to mention the damage they cause! however, it's frustrating because i really like intricate nail designs but that's not possible without fake nails. i also don't want gel polish just on my regular nails because then it feels like even more work to eventually remove it from my natural nail. i've tried press ons hoping that would be the end of it, but nope ofc any small thing you do, they all end up flying off so quickly. at this point i just stick to regular nail polish and if it chips so be it.. i just can't seem to understand how other people are getting them done so consistently 😭 especially when i see girls who constantly have the long, intricate nails that can only be done if you have fake nails.. like girl, you're okay with constantly damaging your nails for years on end?? i don't get it either haha

by Alert_Face8702 1 day ago

So getting gel nail actually fixed my ADHD hand fussing woes. thankfully I never bit my nails, but I would rip them off. Not pleasant when you overdo it. Now I get gel nails and I can't do that anymore. Now they're pretty short, so they don't get in the way, but I don't need to worry about wrecking my fingers. I think a lot of people here are confusion gel nails with gel polish. I'll rip through gel polish in a couple days, but you really can't rip off a competently applied set of gel nails.

by Glittering_Lie 1 day ago

Also to the people that always have their nails done, they look so good but damn are you riiiiich?! I cannot justify when I have bills. Re: press ons — I just did them for the first time 9 days ago for a wedding. They are surprisingly still on! They're not perfect because it's my first attempt, but I think I'd do them again for an event! I think the key is using a different glue than the one the nails come with

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I've had press ons last for 2-3 weeks easy, you may have to reglue a few nails along the way if you're hard on your hands like I am though. They make really nice ones these days

by Independent_Wind_777 1 day ago

My mom is the opposite...not a fashionista at all, but she loves getting her nails done. But I will say that she, or anyone else I know, has ever made me feel bad for not getting my nails done, or like I wasn't presentable. Sometimes I love painting my nails, but im not good at it lol, but I can't say I have encountered anyone who seems to care one way or the other. I saw someone say maybe it's about the area...I am from the mid Atlantic in the US, but I have no clue if that changes anything. It would be interesting to find out if area makes a difference.

by Lina36 1 day ago

what kind of jobs are you working? But honestly, when i was working for a Japanese supermarket, we were given allowance every month to buy makeup. Like, one of the rule is I had to wear makeup at work.

by luettgenhazel 1 day ago

Is it true women wearing glasses is frowned upon too? I love their culture, but then that backwards ass thinking turns me off too lmao. I remember a photo booth saying two men should not take pictures together

by Apart-Adeptness 1 day ago

yes. We also werent allowed to sit down for 8 hours straight. They have a team to just stare at cameras to check (and will publicly call out in company group so our supervisor can give us tickets). I wear glasses but they still hired me because I was young (19) and they usually assigned me to cosmestic (that include selling condoms to men- very creepy)

by luettgenhazel 1 day ago

The work ethics there are something else. I low key wish I was there teaching English, but then I remember the work ethics. Really crazy they felt it necessary to hire people to make sure you couldn't rest for a second. Wait. There's no mandatory breaks? Here in the U.S. you need at least 2 10-15 minute breaks and of course lunch break for 8 hour shifts

by Apart-Adeptness 1 day ago

I was working in Vietnam so it is different. We have a lunch for 30 mins but just that. We didnt have breaks through the shift and no leaning on polls etc either.

by luettgenhazel 1 day ago

Those breaks are not mandatory in the US on a federal level. So it is up to local/state laws. You can be told to work a full day with no breaks in many states.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

btw the breaks laws vary by state, the usa has no nationwide break law.

by Numerous_Ad 1 day ago

I had to wear makeup at work Sounds like that company was pretty sexist if they required makeup.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Got called out by boss for wearing open toed shoes to work without my nails done 🙃

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Bro outed himself as having a foot fetish

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Thats like when you work for Quentin Tarantino

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Lmaooooo

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Level 0.5 foot fetish bro can't handle feet without nails done

by Anonymous 1 day ago

His? Willing to bet her boss is a woman.

by Resident-Pea 1 day ago

Even still- no guy gets away with wearing flip flops to work either.

by Valerie30 1 day ago

This is obvious conflation, women's open toed shoes are not even vaguely.comparable to flip flops

by Anonymous 1 day ago

This is probably a male that doesnt really think about their being open towed shoes available that are acceptable in a business environment.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Because there isn't any for men. When I worked, business casual dress code as a man was forced into a long sleeve button up with a tie, close-toed heeled shoes, and slacks. Color was our only variety. Women had a huge list of acceptable clothing options.

by Wild_Economics 1 day ago

yeah. I sometimes envy womens wide variety of clothes choices

by adell45 1 day ago

Well my last job didn't even have a handbook but the one before that was a biotech and open toed shoes weren't allowed because labs lol.

by Valerie30 1 day ago

Open toed shoes aren't usually allowed for safety reasons. Boss didn't mind that, just the missing polish. That's the same as criticizing someone for not wearing makeup, and it's 100% not okay.

by Sad-Boot 1 day ago

Same. Open toed shoes were allowed only if toenails were painted.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I don't want to see anyone's toes at work unless they are a lifeguard

by Valerie30 1 day ago

So I'm not the only one who feels this way.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

This is y'all dealing with disrespectful people. Fight back

by Gaylordlinwood 1 day ago

You can get opened toed high heels

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I don't think they're made for work. Lots of high heels are casual wear

by Consistent-Hand-2181 1 day ago

Peep toes, sandals, wedges could all be open toe.

by Slight_Carpenter4108 1 day ago

Well, I guess other workplace are different, but I certainly would not wear any of those to my office.

by amaliamann 1 day ago

What are you talking about? Formal sandals are very much a thing... Are you from Earth lol

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Formal sandals, lol

by amaliamann 1 day ago

Male or female boss?

by Possible_Ad 1 day ago

I get why you're asking, but it is irrelevant. Neither gender has more or less of a right to judge another person's choices as long as they are hygienic and safe. If OP has athlete's foot and has nasty looking feet, then yeah, that's unprofessional.

by hilpertroman 1 day ago

I agree that neither gender has the right to judge another person's choice, but I could be wrong but I'm guessing the boss is a woman because I don't think most men would even notice whether their nails are polished and would care.

by Possible_Ad 1 day ago

😱

by ressie67 1 day ago

I mean, it depends on where you work. They open toed shoes if you work as a lawyer or a doctor, that's a horrible thing but if you work at the general office for accounting or anything, I don't think it matters.

by Marshallpouros 1 day ago

I feel like this is not that case as the person was scolded for not having manicured toes. If it was a doctor or construction job they probably wouldnt care if it was or wasn't painted, theyd just say get ur shoes back on

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I feel this is industry department. Working a stem field, you mostly just need clean nails. And even in the office no one cares.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Agree. In healthcare we view long nails as germ traps. They make me cringe.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Me too. The ones that insist on doing their jobs with talons don't last long in healthcare, which is actually a good outcome lol

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I can't stand having long nails. Even when I get them done I still keep tnem short

by Optimal_Tomato 1 day ago

Yeah, I try not to judge other people's appearance, but I can't imagine how people with really long nails get their hands clean. When I wash my hands, that includes under my nails.

by littelhunter 1 day ago

I've worked food service and grocery jobs for years. It's not even allowed to have fake nails. If you do you're required to have gloves on. But it's pretty pointless especially considering how many boxes and other things you wind up opening or handling. Someone could spend $100 to get their nails done only to have them be ruined two hours into their shift.

by marisol18 1 day ago

There are miles of difference between fake nails and just neat/clean nails. But if you're rolling around with grown out dirty coke fingers I'm going to judge the hell out of you. Nail brushes are $1.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yes - I worked in a chem lab for years and it was pointless to do anything with my nails. Plus, open-toed shoes were never allowed for safety reasons. I now work in an office environment and still don't get manis/pedis. It's just not a priority for me. When I do feel like painting them, I do my own and they turn out just fine.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Pretty much never do my nails. Never have had a problem with being seen as attractive.

by Wmcclure 1 day ago

What country and decade? It certainly not something mandatory in my country.

by Large-Ratio 1 day ago

Srsly..what world is this? I've never had a manicure in my life.

by Adventurous-Way-9788 1 day ago

Yep, me neither

by Large-Ratio 1 day ago

Same

by Anonymous 1 day ago

It's not mandatory by any means, but I've heard many cases of women being called out (often by other women too) for wearing open-toed shoes without nail polish. It really upsets me hearing about that.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Exactly. That's why "do you" is the message.

by New_Assistance 1 day ago

I am like that.

by friesenscarlett 1 day ago

Depends on where you live and who you spend time around. I don't personally know a single woman who acts like that.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

That's good you haven't run into it. I've had jobs where painted toenails were a requirement if you wore sandals. Not just neat and well groomed but also painted.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Are you in the South/Dallas?

by AppropriatePack 1 day ago

lol I live in Texas and was just thinking about how pretty much every woman down here gets her nails done.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

That's so surprising to me. But I've also never had a job where open-toed shoes were allowed

by Neva44 1 day ago

Wondering if it was the same with fingernails too? Bc if that's the case you probably have loose grounds for a labor discrimination suit. Doubt the men were expected to put as much personal time into their appearances. Obviously I know it's not that simple to ‘just sue' but that's not a normal expectation imo or one they can really stand on legally. I'm sorry that's something you've had to deal with.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

They're not. Just keep them clean and trimmed. You don't need press-ons or acrylics or ridiculous styles. Trim them yourself, clean under them, and do what YOU want from there. Same applies to men

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Adding on- makeup and shaving should also not be required to look presentable

by Anonymous 1 day ago

You're free not to but the vast majority and going to write you off as either lazy or sloppy.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yes that is the problem I'm identifying

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yes, because they're being misogynistic.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

It's not

by Valerie30 1 day ago

I know it's not, but my parents don't know that and neither do certain employers

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Women that don't wear makeup to an interview are less likely to be hired. It is socially reinforced.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Do you think this is just an aspect of the pretty privilege? Make-up, usually, accentuates societal indicators of beauty. So a woman wearing makeup may adhere to societal standards of beauty than she would if she was not wearing make-up.

by Tressie29 1 day ago

Are you sick?? You look so tired today

by Medical-Relative6388 1 day ago

Yup, the thing is no one has to "enforce" these on anyone. They can just choose NOT to hire women they don't consider "presentable"....

by AppropriatePack 1 day ago

Yep, it's mostly unofficial. They can not hire, not promote or put in positions where they will meet with customers or other companies. Business living in what I wish was the past have lots of options to keep women who aren't into all the extras for whatever reason from going as far as they could. It's shortsighted and hopefully won't last forever, though I don't see conventionally attractive people ever not having a bit of an advantage on some level.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Literally never cared about a woman's nails (fingers or toes). As long as they are not grimy or infected, who gives AF.

by Unlucky_Spend 1 day ago

They're not.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

It is unfortunately considered unprofessional by a lot of people if a woman doesn't have manicured nails in the office.

by Several-Task1212 23 hours ago

In what industry/decade?

by Anonymous 23 hours ago

This is true in several places I have lived.

by Anonymous 23 hours ago

Are these people in the room with us? I've been in corporate America for 30 years and more women managers and executives dont gave nail polish than do have. And don't underestimate the number of women who get pedicures for the massage and grooming, and only get polish because it's an extra 10 minutes or less and no extra money.

by Anonymous 22 hours ago

Manicure is just what people say when they mean neat.

by Anonymous 22 hours ago

Think that's just your local area then and not representative of all women working on office jobs if that's the context. Either way, that's unfortunate that's the case for your area.

by Anonymous 22 hours ago

I did specify I was only speaking for my area. I don't know what it's like in other places.

by Anonymous 22 hours ago

I've literally never heard of one instance of this in my entire life.

by Anonymous 21 hours ago

Theyre on the same level of make up. If she wants to do it then good for her. But it should only be for her not anyone else.

by UsedAnnual9508 21 hours ago

I've never had either and I was a great beauty in my youth. Middle age now and still have never had either. I'm quite presentable for a middle age lady. I've only even trimmed my nails short like men do.

by Anonymous 21 hours ago

I have never considered a lady who didn't do her nails as unpresentable.

by Live_Appearance 21 hours ago

I agree with your point, but your reasoning is not of this century. There are several more durable options available that won't come off in days if you want to get your nails done.

by Content_Werewolf_603 21 hours ago

Are those options expensive compared with painting or putting acrylics on?

by Anonymous 20 hours ago

It's more expensive, but it's generally pretty comparable when you consider how much longer it lasts. Gel or powder nails regularly last 2-3 weeks, some people even push it to 4 (but from what you'd said, you'd probably be unhappy with the growth at that point). So if gel lasts you 3 weeks it's likely cheaper than the 3 regular manicures many people who go regularly would get in that time. I totally stand by your opinion that we shouldn't be socially obligated to ‘maintain' ourselves like that though.

by Content_Werewolf_603 20 hours ago

Agreed. I'm so self conscious about how my nails look, but I literally never notice other people nails unless they have crazy long fake nails. And as much as I wish I didnt care about my own nails, that old home manecure set commercial keeps playing in my mind, "if your nails dont look good, you dont look good."

by Capital_Scale 20 hours ago

Nothing beyond decent clothing, basic hygiene, and neat hair should be required for women to "look presentable"

by Lefflerrosario 20 hours ago

They aren't. Just keep them nice and clean, trimmed preferably and you're good. This goes for EVERYONE. Especially if you're in the medical Me personally? I like manicured nails because I'm a girly girl and I think they're pretty.

by Okonwillow 19 hours ago

They're not required either. They're not in my country. I'm from Norway and I don't think I've ever heard it to be something they expect. I live in the US too as a Norwegian for some years and in all honesty, I never heard of manicures and pedicures to be something that was required at workat all

by Marshallpouros 19 hours ago

I do my nails because if I don't I feel less put together. I'm never looking at anyone else in criticism. I usually look for something I like. You know to compliment. This may be a the people you are around problem. More then a real issue .

by Anonymous 19 hours ago

Are they?

by IllustriousTear8445 19 hours ago

They aren't

by Anonymous 19 hours ago

I'm not one for manis and pedis either. I keep my nails clean and trim. In my social circles, it's like 50/50. Half don't and half do. None of my friends judge anyone about whether they do or don't, as far as I am aware. We all respect each other's grooming habit choices as long as we don't smell bad!

by Anonymous 18 hours ago

Not unpopular. Although there's a middle ground between professional manicure/pedicure and letting your nails go weeks without clipping or doing anything to them. Spending a few minutes on them yourself every few days is just good hygiene.

by Anonymous 18 hours ago

This is an indication of who you surround yourself with/where you live.

by Anonymous 18 hours ago

They aren't.

by lowell88 17 hours ago

I dont think most of these people are familiar with the high profile office politics. I'm in NYC, and my wife works in an office and has to appear presentable for presentations and other stuff. Yeah, the nails and hair are important

by Tiny_Watercress 17 hours ago

Yup, hair, nails, face waxing, and makeup are considered bare minimum for many professional jobs. People won't say it outright, but they will insinuate that you are a slob, or just never hire you for that job in the first place.

by AppropriatePack 17 hours ago

You ever think we just like having them done?

by Xkohler 17 hours ago

Right? I get a dip manicure every 2 weeks because I like the way it looks. Customers at my job see my hands, and I prefer to have nice nails. It makes me feel pretty and put together.

by Anonymous 17 hours ago

I don't recall ever saying it was men who notice it, but go off I guess.

by Anonymous 16 hours ago

Some men do notice it and will point it out. It's a weird negging thing.

by Anonymous 16 hours ago

Men are the only ones who've ever said "you look tired/sick" when I don't wear makeup. They definitely do it too.

by Independent-Cow-3693 16 hours ago

That's not my lived in experience as a woman. Is this your lived in experience?

by Deckowbirdie 16 hours ago

You are so right!!!! It is definitely mostly women.

by Anonymous 16 hours ago

I had a man tell me I wasn't feminine enough because I don't get my nails done and paint my own toes. I also practice combat sports and don't feel like wasting money. One round on the bag and my nails and toes would be trashed.

by Otherwise_Mulberry15 16 hours ago

You don't need a manicure or pedicure for nails to look presentable, but they still need some care just like everything else on the body. They should be kept clean, moisturized and neatly trimmed or filed, not chewed or snipped so short that your fingertips are sticking out from under the ends. Do you keep your natural nails in good shape? I get acrylics (very short ones) because my natural nails are very thin and brittle, so they constantly break and peel if I don't have that layer protecting them. I've never been made to feel that I need them in order to be presentable though; it's for my own physical comfort.

by Binsemilia 16 hours ago

I'm a 36 year old woman and I do not regularly get my nails done. I'll go once a year to get a pedicure as a treat to myself or something. It's expensive and I honestly just don't care. I'd rather spend my money on something else. I've just never really been into getting done up in general. I kind of wish that was something I valued but I don't. I tried for a while to get all done up, curl my hair before going out, etc. It's just all so time consuming.

by aftonking 16 hours ago

I've gone my whole adult life not doing my nails or toes, ever, other than general maintenence. It's never been an issue with any human that's ever been interested in me socially. Where do you live that it's 'required'? Adults can make their own appearance decisions.

by Anonymous 15 hours ago

Yeah this sounds cultural. Very few women I know wear those kinds of nails. Agree they are completely impractical. Personally I'm not a fan of them or the they way they look, but each to their own.

by Anonymous 15 hours ago

I used to get those giant 2" long pointy claws for about 8-9 years. Even during Covid, I found a way to get them done. And honestly I loved the endless possibilities for customization. It was something I viewed as fun and not a "necessity". Now, because of how insanely expensive it is, I took em all off and just paint my natural nails. I feel like the amount of time and money I've saved, plus not having to constantly worry about them breaking, works way better for me. But as far as "professionalism"… I think as long as your hands are clean, you should be fine. Plus, all the young people now doing that "clean girl aesthetic"… natural nails are making a comeback.

by Ambitious_Sir 15 hours ago

I've only gotten my nails done for weddings. I've never heard anyone say I don't look put together

by Anonymous 15 hours ago

You can still get a manicure without it being obvious. I get pedicures on the regular because as I've gotten older and my vision has gotten crappier, I have a hard time cutting my toenails properly.

by alveragislason 14 hours ago

After decades in the workplace, supervising women, working for women, and working alongside women, and as a father to a woman, a grandfather to two girls, a husband, a brother, a son, etc., there's only one woman about which I could tell you whether she gets manicures or pedicures: my wife, and she doesn't. I couldn't care less, and it never occurred to me to look.

by kundekale 14 hours ago

I love to have my nails done for fun or fancy occasions but keeping them done all the time would financially ruin me. Plus I have some hobbies that aren't so nail friendly. My friend at work gets hers done every week but she gets a massive discount from her friend doing it for her. Most girls aren't so lucky!

by Braunisrael 13 hours ago

i find nails to be super gross after a few days of getting them, and its just so expensive. i never get mine done but when i have had them its fun. however i wish it wasnt seen as being more feminine and put together to have them done. theyre luxuries that inconvenience my basic tasks and theyre so overrated.

by Bulky-Leg-2336 13 hours ago

I completely agree. I just put on nail hardener to keep my nails from being brittle and trim them. I refuse to do anything else. I do not care if that makes me "not attractive". I need to be able to use my hands.

by Anonymous 13 hours ago

Can't think of a bigger waste of money tbh. Besides my job doesn't allow me to have nice nails. Don't stress about it. Most normal people dont judge people on their nails.

by Anonymous 12 hours ago

I never have, and do just fine. Are you in Texas or something?

by Anonymous 12 hours ago

In my 49's and have never been told I'm not presentable because I don't get mani/pedis regularly (I maybe get one once or twice a year as a fun treat to myself).

by Late_Trip7019 12 hours ago

Nails done isn't common in my field as an elementary teacher. Short, neat and clean nails is the expectation and is very attainable and affordable. We have staff members who paint their nails themselves but it's not a requirement.

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

This isn't an unpopular opinion. I never do anything to my nails except trim them. I'm not paying to get them done, and if you don't want to then don't.

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

Men don't even think about women's nails other than "Gross" or "that looks dumb" or the slightly more gross "how do they...?" this standard is completely self imposed by women to other women.

by Boyerearlene 11 hours ago

They aren't?

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

I completely agree. though when I worked in food service we weren't allowed to have nail polish/fake nails, so bare nails IS what was professional and polished.

by Browndarrion 11 hours ago

I got tired of getting my nails done a couple years ago. Sometimes I do my own but as long as they are not snagged or dirty or awful cuticles than do you I would say

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

That first paragraph is some real notlikeothergirls stuff. Passive aggressive as hell and making fun of stuff people like because you don't enjoy it. None of it is "required" for women to look "presentable." Some women (and men, for that matter) just enjoy doing it because they like it and feel that they look better with it.

by kerlukekatlynn 10 hours ago

I never got the appeal of painting nails and spending $50 either. I never got a manicure done for my wedding, just painted it myself. I was telling a workplace friend that came to my wedding this and she was shocked cause she got a manicure and I didn't for my own wedding 😂 but hey everyone's got different things that make them feel good! I know broke people still getting manicures on a regular basis which is baffling to me.

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

You don't see the appeal of painting your nails and yet you painted yours for your wedding?

by Binsemilia 9 hours ago

Who says that?

by Anonymous 9 hours ago

I'm a woman and I've never had either. Never been interested, never could justify paying for it. Nobody ever said anything to me about it. I don't know any women who do other than really young family members.

by Anonymous 9 hours ago

OP, are you my doppelganger? 😂

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

They're not. This is entirely self imposed because of your perception of society. It's not real. My wife doesn't have manicures and pedicures, and she's perfect.

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

This is a you thing. My job is 90% women, and I can only think of two women that regularly get their nails done. My entire department is women and none of us get our nails done. We are all professionals who have master's degrees or PhDs. I've never felt that women are seen as less presentable if they don't get their nails done.

by Naderkarl 8 hours ago

Its not….

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

I've also never been a nail girl. Natural nails look way better anyway, not those claw-like things. My philosophy is that you should have more nail attached to your finger than not.

by jordycrooks 8 hours ago

Finicky nail paint? It's not that complicated to paint nails. Also, you don't have to spend any frivolous time or money on your keratin. But please have a basic level of grooming. Clean and filed is the bare minimum.

by Anonymous 8 hours ago
