Going a step above just chain pizza, like dominos, often isn't worth it, amirite?

Yeah the giveaway was the options being fancy, wood fired pizza or dominos. Your local down the street spot might even be cheaper than Domino's but it's gonna be miles better

Maybe where you are. But a large pie is like $22-25. a dominos large is really maybe a medium, which is like half the size.

Do the math on the area of a dominoes large vs a local large. You might be surprised just how much bigger it is. Then, do the math on the price per unit of area. Dominoes might be more expensive

We are in a relatively rural part of Ohio, and we are definitely paying more than that for a large pizza if we order it to the house.

Where I live there's a few local places that are way better than chain but only marginally more expensive. I guess your local places unfortunately suck.

Same, I won't order from the chain places anymore. Terrible service, prices are about the same and the pizza tastes like cardboard.

You know what they say about pizza?! Pizza is like sex. Even when it's just okay it's still pretty damn good. 😆

Amen. I don't care what people say. I'm always down for a $9.99 pizza from Domino's made my way. And if a Little Cesar's was nearby, I'd be hitting that up, too. Crazy Bread with extra garlic butter? That's why i keep a cardiologist speed dial..

The problem is that not every local shop is automatically better than the big chains. I feel like, with pizza specifically, distinguishing between quality and cheap ingredients is tougher because sauce and cheese cover a lot of it up. Obviously a mcdonalds hamburger patty vs a sit down restaurant is a pretty large gap in quality. Taco Bell is mostly (delicious) goop inside of a torilla by the time you bite into it. Pizza is harder to differentiate.

My local pizza place has pies for $21-25 and they're very good. So much better than a chain like Dominos

I live in a fairly rural area and we have two pizza chains, and one local place. The local place is really good but it's a very specific flavor that is sweeter than normal. I don't like either one of the chains that much so we end up ordering a six pack every month of Lou malnati's frozen deep dish from Chicago to fill that Gap where we can have pizza roughly once a week. It seems kind of crazy when you look at the price for those six pizzas, but it works out to roughly $20 per pie, and that is way cheaper than us getting crappy delivery
