I'm glad you added USA smarties are something different literally everywhere else.

I got a bunch of Canadian candy recently. Smarties were honestly my least favorite. Like an M&M but with a much thicker shell. That being said Coffee Crisps might be my favorite candy bar on this earth now and I'm upset I was denied them for my first 37 years of life.

Smarties are better then m&ms, but not as good as peanut m&m.
by Anonymous5 hours ago
Peanut M&Ms are definitely superior. Frankly I'm much more of a Reese's Pieces person.

Right? I was in for a shock when my sibling brought "Smarties" aka M&M's in disguise home.

Theyre so different! M&ms taste and smell like vomit. Canadian smarties taste like chocolate. And our "Rockets" are your smarties and theyre great too. But you have to twist off one end and pop the whole roll in your mouth using your teeth.

The chocolate is better but the shell is way too thick.

Like a different candy or something different altogether?
by SmoothBad3 hours ago
Very different candy. Pretty similar to an M&M. I believe the candy that we call Smarties are called "Rockets" up there.

I love smarties but I think Chewy Spree are better.

I was confused until I remembered Smarties in Canada are a different candy entirely. I think your Smarties are what we call Rockets? If so, they're great. One of my favourite Halloween candies; I don't think I've had them or even seen them at any other time.

You are so close, but the best candy is their more flavorful chalky cousin the Sweetarts along with their Latin neighbor the Hot Tamale.
by Anonymous2 hours ago
Yes, Sweet Tarts are miles ahead of Smarties in terms of flavor, and they check all the boxes that OP lists for why that genre of candy is better.
by Anonymous2 hours ago
Yeah I'm with you in this one. God, I haven't had a Sweet Tart in years...
by Anonymous1 hour ago
So your only criteria for being a superior candy is that they don't melt and get messy, go stale, or sit heavy? That's like saying beef jerky is better than a Ribeye for the same reasons. It sounds like you just don't like chocolate.

If you like the taste and feel of chalk, then sure. Unpopular indeed
by Anonymous1 hour ago
Naw, you're thinking of NECCO Wafers. Smarties are much tarter and a little softer, but still powdery
by Anonymous1 hour ago
Nah I know what I'm referring to thanks lol
by Anonymous56 minutes ago
Lol I kid, but seriously, NECCO are friggin nasty.

Are Smarties in the US the same as Aus? Here they're basically M&Ms but bigger….
by Emiliobeer33 minutes ago
No those are the same in Canada. We call the US ones rockets.

No. Totally different. And they are not good. Not sure the last time I actually saw some.
