+85 Weddings are not an appropriate place to hit on people. amirite?

by Anonymous 12 hours ago

Speak for yourself. Everyones dressed up, looking great, drinking, you can start conversations with anyone. It's the best place to hit on people

by Anonymous 12 hours ago

For real. It's like tailor made for singles to meet.

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

Til you realize why they're all single.

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

Eh, that's a bit cynical don't you think?

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

If you're hitting on people, you're (presumably) also single...so.....

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

Yes exactly,

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

You don't need to get serious with them. It's ok to be casual with crazy.

by Puzzled-Product 10 hours ago

don't hit on the bride though. that's a mistake you'll only make once.

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

Depends on the color of her wristband tho

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

Everyone's in a romantic mood, feeling very optimistic about love? Come on it's the ideal spot to meet someone!

by QuitHorror5854 10 hours ago

Yeah, speak for yourself, bro. Obviously, don't hit on people who don't want you to talk to them. That applies anywhere though. But weddings are fun, happy time where that kind of thing is almost expected.

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

Ding ding ding The real answer is a lot of what you can get away with in social situations is dependent on a lot of things, not the least of which is how people perceive you. If you're the quiet guy in the corner with a beer at a party, you flirting with the girls isn't gonna go over the same way as if you're socially charismatic, considered likeable, etc.

by Anonymous 9 hours ago

Bro the quiet guy in the corner is by definition not flirting with girls

by WillingParty848 9 hours ago

Tall, hair coverage, good looking, physical stature, etc.

by Anonymous 9 hours ago

Or, funny, interesting, curious, empathetic, charismatic, etc It's a lot easier to blame genetics than to develop an attractive personality, but that's no way to live

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

I remember when those traits were considered unique and stand out...in college.

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

Ok, dude. I guess you're screwed. Bummer.

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

This is like cartoon character's understanding of how social dynamics work. They may or may not help. But it's unrepresentative. Think of it more like shopping. Until you stepped into American Eagle and found that velvet red jacket, you had no idea it existed. But now that you do, you want it. It doesn't fit into your pre-determined checklist of "I want a jacket made of denim and it has to be denim blue colored" etc. Does that mean you want it any less?

by Anonymous 7 hours ago

I think if it more like you want to shop at Nordstrom, but can only afford Nordstrom rack.

by Anonymous 7 hours ago

It's fallen a bit. Used to get a lot there, but the last year or two it's felt more and more like TJ Maxx but pricier. And gods help you if you're smaller than a 42R.

by Anonymous 7 hours ago

Thats what men car about. Women mostly like personality and charisma.., be fun. However you cant just say everyone is attracted to the same type of person. Hence weddings

by WillingParty848 6 hours ago

If the woman has to choose between looks and personality, yes.

by Anonymous 6 hours ago

Theres no winning with good looks and boring personality

by WillingParty848 6 hours ago

True, but I've found that "not boring" generally suffices for these guys.

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

right lol Weddings are like, THE most appropriate place to hit on someone.

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

They are A place to engage in conversation with someone following the same rules of etiquette as you would in any other social space.

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

Well everybody is kind of pre-vetted by the bride and groom. They are all dressed up just to celebrate. So a little different than just a random place

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

Internet opinions don't matter.

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

Including yours about how internet opinions don't matter.

by Short-Drawer 5 hours ago

Bro, half the bridesmaids are literally counting on it

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

Every wedding has that one groomsman bridesmaid side quest. I just study the lore

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

I met my wife at a wedding. She was a bridesmaid wanting the d. My d

by Anonymous 4 hours ago

Because we have been to lots of weddings, have been part of the bridal party of lots of weddings, and have had our own weddings maybe?

by Anonymous 4 hours ago

Genuine question: how many weddings have you been to from age 16 up?

by Anonymous 4 hours ago

Personally i dont have the time count them. That many

by WillingParty848 4 hours ago

The bouquet toss is exactly that — whoever catches it will meet her future partner. And so they all fight for it!

by Anonymous 3 hours ago

Theres literally a portion where the bride throws her flower bouquet to see who is getting married next. What are we even doing here

by Anonymous 3 hours ago

How about funerals?

by Anonymous 3 hours ago

Have you seen Wedding Crashers?

by Anonymous 3 hours ago

Bro is mad noone hit on them at a wedding while others hooked up

by Anonymous 2 hours ago

OP didn't catch feelings, didn't catch vibes… only caught the Uber home.

by Anonymous 2 hours ago

😭😭😭

by Several-Abroad80 2 hours ago

A wedding is nothing but a party by a different name (and price tag). People are looking great, the drinks & drugs are going around, music's playing and love is in the air. Come on

by Anonymous 2 hours ago

Where else are you meant to meet someone? Serious question.

by Anonymous 2 hours ago

Also not in private either

by Anonymous 2 hours ago

People take issue with people hitting on anyone anywhere these days

by Anonymous 1 hour ago

I doubt anyone goes to a wedding thinking can't wait for someone to hit on me! Usually you get to talking to someone and you just have a connection. It's a place for celebration not a funeral so yeah, probably an unpopular opinion and kind of weird too

by Prestigious_Newt159 1 hour ago

umm not sure if you realize this but that's a movie.

by Prestigious_Newt159 1 hour ago

You sure? I think it's footage of Will Ferrell at an actual funeral

by Anonymous 58 minutes ago

good job on an unpopular opinion

by Anonymous 48 minutes ago

Thank you!

by Anonymous 42 minutes ago

Alcohol says different
