Removing headphone jacks was a good move, amirite?
by Anonymous1 day ago
Headphones are not the only devices that use audio jacks. Regardless, your just encouraging the mass production of wireless crap that costs just the same as the wired crap, but creates more environmental damage through battery usage. And more security vulnerabilities through Bluetooth.

Wireless earbuds suck....would rather have the wire that won't ever die and need a recharge!!!

Everything you said is completely negated by the fact that (for example) Apple made Lightning Cable style Earbuds over 3.5mm. Wireless also will never beat wired in terms of quality and it is much harder to lose wired over wireless earbuds.

I never broke a set of headphones off in the jack on any phones I ever had...

My issue is my phone is now incompatible with non-blutooth audio devices unless I by yet another adapter.

wear out So does everything else including charging port and the battery. tangle easily Depends on person. I never experienced this. Also fyi headphone jack isn't mechanical. Its not like a CD drive or a Mechanical hard drive. Its just a port like any other. Forcing bluetooth onto me means I can't use my old and working pair of headphones and instead I am forced to buy very expensive airpods or buy very crappy wireless ones and then struggle with pairing and unparing between my devices as opposed to just sticking them in or out like I do with regular headphones.

My car has a cassette to aux adapter, cutting edge technology, but my phone can't plug in. Big F's in the chat.

as someone who constantly has to unplug my headphones to charge my phone, i have to wholeheartedly disagree. it might not affect you because you use bluetooth, but some people can't afford wireless headphones/air pods and it's a huge inconvenience to them.

Maybe that's why it is an unpopular opinion

Batteries never ran out on my corded headphones.

It was an anti-consumer move, but brands that did this are anti-consumer by design, and people who care don't support them by buying their downgraded tech.

Sorry, I agree. Even if they put it back, I'll still be exclusively using my AirPods Pro. No way I'm going back to wired.
