I mean it used to be Paul McCartney, Jay Z, Eminem, Radiohead, Kendrick, Prince, Beyoncé and Billie Eilish. Now it's Sabrina Carpenter. Maybe the undercards are still good but anyone who thinks these headliners compare to the headliners of old just have terrible taste in music.

Can you please possibly explain how you extrapolated that point from what I actually said? This lineup *sucks*. You want to know how I know how bad it is? Because they are releasing it now - instead of the weekend before the festival. They know that had they waited, the uproar of negative publicity at this travesty would have been so loud it would not have survived.

It's less than two months earlier than they released their previous lineup, which was November 2024. The last few years before that the lineup was published the January before the festival. Why make a claim like it being unusual that they aren't releasing it the weekend before the festival when it's so easy to disprove ?

Be honest, you're cherry picking. Usually when they released in January, they would be sold out by then. So you wouldn't be able to buy a ticket when they dropped the lineup unless you wanted VIP and even then sometimes would be sold out weekend 1. There's a reason behind the lineup drop dates being so early and it's a mix of the festivals popularity and the popularity of the lineup

I mean, Karol G just did the NFL halftime show for the Brazil game. Got good ratings and feedback too. With the World Cup being in the USA next years, seems she's trying to be the next big Latina singer. This lineup makes sense with their target audience in mind. Appealing to young (<35) women. You have just outgrown it.

The fact that you could afford to go to Coachella more than once in last 10 years makes me completely disregard this opinion. I've been to two music festivals in my entire life and I saved up and worked my ass off to make it happen. Just bought a house because my priorities changed about 10 years ago. If I continued to go to music festivals, I'd still be living in my car working 50 hours a week. Just so I could go to the next one.

Look past the headliners. This is good music: Devo, Röyksopp, The xx, Blondshell, Groove Armada, Moby, Turnstile, Disclosure, Lykke Li, The Strokes, Addison Rae (her debut album is good), David Byrne, Interpol, Iggy Pop, Oklou, Holly Humberstone, The Rapture, Samia, etc. Btw one of the headliners (Sabrina Carpenter) has a great pop show.

Royksopp is so damn fun. There's a bunch of people on this list that I would love to see, but it's not worth the cost for me. But then I'm not a music festival kind of guy anymore, so I don't get anything from the festie vibes. Is this the first pop-pop-pop headliners? I guess it depends on how you classify frank ocean for them - blackpink - bad bunny in 2023, but every other one had at least 1 rock / rap / electronic headliner (Swedish house mafia + the weeknd is kind of cheating). Personally, i love that artists are using festivals to collaborate with other artists like the NIN/Boys Noize collab this year. You're around so many other amazing artists, have fun with it!
