I hate dual timeline novels. It's lazy and unnecessary. amirite?

the novel equivalent of "westworld" ...do you perchance mean Westworld by Michael Crichton?

I mean in terms of cultural blow up and popularity. The novel didn't get nearly the attention the tv show did

Is your issue with the structure or with the popularity? Some of the best books I've ever read with the deepest and most interesting character development are virtually unknown in the mainstream. Also, like, if we want to get nickpicky the actual star when it comes to Westworld is the original movie. The show is a pale shadow of what it originally was.

Most fantasy is going to have dual timeline, though, to some degree.
