+23 Trailers aren't usually spoiling a movie, amirite?

Honestly, my only real problem with trailers is when they show 90% of the jokes for comedy movies, then you go and see the movie and realize that you can see every joke coming a mile away because you heard them in a million ads before you even got there.

The best ones show jokes not included in the Final Cut. Sets the tone, but you're still in for a surprise.

Sometimes the trailer only shows the "best part" of the movie while the rest of it is garbage...that's what I hate!

I get more mad at misleading trailers. I like Downsizing for the movie it is but I got whiplash from expecting a comedy.

That's fair, misrepresenting the movie is a different thing. I just don't feel spoiled by learning things that actually do happen

I recently rewatched reservoir dogs and pulled up the trailer to show my girlfriend before hand. It portrayed it like an action packed romp when 90% of it is just some guys in a warehouse. There actually was more action than i remembered but still not very much.

I'm someone who prefers to go into movies blind, but it only makes sense if I already know that I want to see the movie because of a recommendation, actor, theme, etc. I wouldn't say I consider most trailers to be spoilers, but a lot of the time trailers and summaries end up tell you what the first ~30 mins will entail and I'd rather learn what's going on the way that the people who made the movie intended. Sometimes I'll even save a movie for later hoping I'll forget any details learned if I did read a summary or see a trailer but plenty of times I go in with that context and it's never ruined a movie for me.

The one thing about trailers is using the "good" sell points and they amplify them. Atila Battle Angel is a good example. Showed some good sell points for the trailer but kinda ruined some suspense, (even though I went to see it 5 times.)
