Zoos shouldn't exist. amirite?

What about the zoo's that are ethical? Like San Diego specializes in endangered animals and rehabilitation. Lots of zoos that I know of in the US are all about that. Sure it's not ideal but if the animals can get help then why not?

Most of the zoos proactively saving endangered animals and preventing their extinction. Also they are saving injured animals and have programs to bring some animals back to the wildlife. In reality, most of the animals have pretty small territory in wildness, meaning, that required space and freedom for them in order to be happy, is pretty close to what they get at the zoo.

I think theres two ways a zoo can be seen. first one is a place to safeguard and care for endangered animals. second is a prison for animals that we can gawk upon for our money. Truth is, to me its in the middle, they care and safeguard animals, but they also need money and this is one way to. It's a compromise.

In the wild, they die due to reasons like poaching, habitat destruction due to deforestation, etc.

i agree. give them TV's to watch in the back room. so they are not completely bored.. give the primates internet access too.. there are ways to create Armored Keyboards and unbreakable track pads.. who knows.. perhaps they will write the next war and peace. i would love to see TV for seals and other Marine Mammals..
