Yes, but it is also a matter of national security. What happens if a war broke out, but your manufacturing is all outsourced your enemy? Short answer: you are screwed! Because they have the industrial capability but you don't.

Heinh Just apply your concept to slavery and colonisation then and please tell me if you arrive at the same conclusion?

Since it seems like Capitalism is reaching its limit and we already have so much wealth, let's make it that jobs are managed by a community of workers. A community, commune, comm let's call this idea Communism! /s

I'll go a step beyond and say there is no non-nationalistic reason to oppose big companies going somewhere else. If a US based company that only sells in the US wants to move, sure, complain. But most companies that move are Global companies. They sell everywhere. Any one country is not entitled to host them. If a company wants to be global, it stands to reason that their workforce, their locations, etc are global too. You want to sell your products in Vietnam? Then what is the problem on having your factory there too? Now that is a true unpopular opinion (in the US).

It is a natural consequence, but it shouldn't be accepted because the benefits of outsourcing jobs is heavily skewed to benefit the ownership class. The rest of us have to figure out how to compete with that cheap labor in a more expensive country.
