My thing is, this name was chosen very deliberately. We could've called this place Washingtonia or something but nah it was pretty important to call out that these are numerous but distinct states.

United in shared ideals and are committed to following one constitution but are nonetheless entirely different states that have their own identity.

But what happens when the ideals are no longer shared and it becomes apparent many are willing to completely ignore the constitution? One might say at that point we are no longer United.

Are you implying the UK is a unified country? That's laughable on its face.

Yeah. Kinda wild how divided it's gotten in recent years... It's insane how hateful this country has become. Like, why can't we all just chill and have a cookout or something? I make some damn good pulled pork and I think it would really bring us all together and shut up about "you're wearing a Steelers cap! You're going to jail!".

If you cannot believe in your agency in a defined structure of equality then you will never have agency in any structure. You think you should be omnipotent and at that fallacy you are blind to the power you have with others. Not everything in life is about you you you you. Most things in life that are meaningful are about us.
