Being "unapologetically yourself" is just being an asshole and excusing yourself for it so you don't have to change, amirite?

Same with; "If you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best". To me that just means you are a self centered, pretentious a-hole and there is a reason you're having relationship problems because that's the only time anyone ever says that.

Let me clarify that I think there is a difference between being honest about what you like in hobbies and tv shows, clothing, all that and then unapologetically being a jerk and expecting everyone to be okay with it and then wondering why everyone dislikes you as a person. I'm mostly talking about the latter people who use the label as a cover for their dookie personality.

I'd say it literally depends on who they are. If they are an ass and they are "being themselves" then they are just an ass. Now a lot of people would use that phrase in regards to an unorthodox hobby, collection, fashion sense, taste in movie and such. However, you can almost always tell which one the person is by their tone when saying it

It could be the are just an asshole, or you are too sensitive and need to grow up, who knows? I am unapologetically myself and people like me, are friends with me, and talk to me openly. Weird how that works, maybe they are all just not sensitive, or maybe they are all shining me on. Or, maybe, just maybe, people are starting to appreciate authenticity in this weird simulacrum of a culture we find ourselves in during the year 2025.
