The only time I see wig shaming is when it's very clearly a bad hair piece. That goes for women too. Do what you want with your hair, but it shouldn't look like a wig if that makes sense

I've never heard anyone call men in wigs/hairpieces/etc. deceptive (that's usually reserved for women wearing makeup but obviously I don't think either should be considered deceptive) but I have heard people make fun of them if it looks bad or obvious which if that's the case then balding would usually look better but to each their own. Also more men than you probably realize have used various hair growth/ covering treatments but if it's well executed then you wouldn't even know

I agree, wear whatever you want, doesn't matter your gender. Men used to wear wigs, high heels and makeup more often in the past. No biggie
