that's.. totally irrelevant. what are you talking about? i'm saying the laws and things, they wouldn't be fair. they would only benefit Christians. America was founded as a land of freedom; the people wanted to be free from the tyranny of English rule. giving people the power of religion in government would just create unfair rule all over again. this is the land of the free; if we followed what the first laws were founded on women would still not have rights (as it only refers to men being created equal, etc.). your argument is illogical, unfair, and invalid. not to mention it's irrelevant any way because we are a country with no united religion and always will be.

the tyranny you speak of in england was the king would not allow freedom of religion, so they colonized america for the purpose of religious freedom. i did not suggest we all should be christians

do you see how that worked out? it's impossible to have a country run by one religion with freedom for all the others.

Why? Gay marriage doesn't hurt anyone. It's actually good for marriage. Since gay marriage was legalized in Massachusetts and Iowa divorce rates have gone down and marriage rates have gone up. Same **** marriage has only been legal in Massachusetts for 5 years and divorce rates are already at a comparable level to what they were during WWII. Is it because it's tradition or against your religion? News flash: It used to be tradition not to go to school with someone of a different race. Your religion doesn't run society.

for the record, our whole nation was founded on Christian principles and its people who want to legalize gay marriage that are screwing that up. I support gay couples, there is one in my family, and i have nothing against them. I just feel that "marriage" should strictly be between a man and a woman
