The anarchy, the heat, the twenty foot walls of water. No food or clean water. Police killing innocent people. No electricity. That kind of stuff. That's what kill. There are no statistics of how many deaths katrina itself caused, but Hurricane Andrew the other worst hurricane of all time in 1992 only killed 26 people. The reason New Orleans had so many deaths was because of the unpreparredness of the government.

No, its okay. You just didnt know. Unless you experience something like this it is hard to know what it is like. I fortunaley didnt have as bad of a time than others. Me and my family evacuated and we all remained safe, and we were able to rebuild.

In New Orleans we had a lot of cops go rouge. There was this bad incident where two families were trying to leave the city so they were walking over a bridge. The cops thought they had weapons and fired on them. There were other incidents. Cops stole and looted. Every one was just trying to survive and there was no law at that point. It wasnt like those survival movies where people ban togerher to survive. It was every family for themselves.

I'd be dead if a hurricane came through my house.

Hurricanes themselves cause very few deaths. Its the shit that comes after that gets people killed.

I lived through Katrina (I'm from New Orleans) , and believe me, it doesnt make your life interesting. It just plain sucks, I lived off of military food for two months. My house smelled so bad. My brothers house was destroyed and he had to live in a FEMA trailer until his child was born and then they moved in with us. And my dad lost two houses. I had no idea where my best friend was for three months. Never ever wish it upon your sefl, please.

I sleep with my stuffed elephant but only because I discovered that it provides excellent support for my shoulder which hurts like a **** in the mornings otherwise.

Yeah I some times use my stuffed animals as neck support rather than using a pillow.

The tower had never been officially named but it has always been referred to as Big Ben because of the bell that it holds. So naming it Elizabeth Tower changed the way we reference the tower. So I believe that it acceptable to be upset at the naming, although I have become rather attached to the nsme Elizabeth Tower.

CP should have stayed with the Hornets; we loved him here. But now we have Anthony Davis so it's all cool I guess.

There is a difference between art and pornography. Someone can be completely naled without it being pornographic.

There are different kinds of vegetarians you know. I'm vegetarian but I still eat seafood, fish, dairy, and eggs. I'm what you call a pescatarian. There are lacto-ovo vegetarians, who don't eat seafood and fish but still eat dairy and eggs.. What you are thinking of is vegan.
