Anyway, glad to see I made it to the top of the "Makes Me Think," list.. Slightly bummed I didn't make the grade for the OP, but hey, at least I made SOMEONE's list- and the top too ;) (Even if it is alphabetical, and I'm not sure WHAT I'm making you think about)..

And to think.. If I hadn't been doing a random, extended, Google search on myself at 2:30 in the morning, I may have never known.

I agree.
But allowing gays to marry is a step in the right direction and who knows maybe it'll lead to true equality for everyone and whatnot.

In response to “I agree. But allowing gays to marry is a step...

Do respective churches each still retain the right to marry whom they choose? Or are they going to wind up being accused of discrimination?

I say, give everyone EQUAL rights to live, believe, practice, as they will while ALL PEOPLE enjoy the same benefits, and the government steps out of marriage all together. Do away with the marriage certificate as a government application-( Let people receive the certificate from their own marriage officials), and replace it with a joint income household tax, property, and asset form.

The law should not be able to legally define marriage.

All people should have equal rights and benefits.

If that's closed-minded, I'm sorry, but it is what I believe.

I don't understand your argument. So the law should not be allowed to define marriage? But it needs too. Married couples receive certain benefits from the goverment. Therefore the goverment has to define what constitutes a marriage so that those people can receive those benefits. Therefore we need a legal definition of marriage. And that definition should be inclusive of different cultures.

Redefining religios traditions in a country where we have freedom of religion is illegal.

Equal rights and marriage would not be mutually exclusive if the government would stay out of marriage altogether and allow anyone cohabitating, who wishes, to apply for and receive the same benefits that are allowed to married couples.

The government should be allowed to do legal unions only (so that the individuals in the union are equally protected). Each church should be free to define marriage in the way that best suites their needs. That way, if someone is hell-bent on marrying someone of their own gender, they'll need to do it in a church that recognizes that. Problem solved.

You people that think I am bitter or "pathetic" are silly. I simply acknowledge humorous situations as I see them. I hope none of you have to deal with misplaced and unfounded judgement.

Being an introvert or extrovert doesn't depend on the specific scenario. The term refers to what you are generally.
