+1,809 How come if a parent calls their son, "son", it sounds normal, but if a parent calls their daughter, "daughter", it sounds weird. "Great job, son!" vs. "Great job, daughter!", amirite?

People call kids who aren't their actual sons 'son' though :)

Yeah, my parents usually call me dear, sweetie, or honey and they call my brother buddy or son. Or princess ^.^
