+444 In Afrikaans, there's a saying that goes, "Jy jok soos 'n bok" which translates into "You're lying like an antelope". This doesn't really make any sense, amirite?

Toe ek Afrikaans lees hier het ek geskrik... Awesomeness! But yeah, a lot of sayings don't make a lot of sense.

hahahaha wow another Afrikaans person! The one that goes with that - 'Jy lieg soos n vlieg' (you're lying like a fly)..... That's also a little senseless

I real wanna learn afrikaan.

Oh, that reminds me. My Spanish teacher just told us that "Soy la leche" (literally: "I am the milk") means "I'm so cool!" in Spanish. And another one, "Echar papas" (literally: "to throw potatoes") means "to fib." The example sentence she gave us was "Elena throws potatoes at her mother" (in Spanish of course). I swear she just makes this stuff up sometimes, just to mess with us. :P
