+30 Raising Cane's is Very Mid, Maybe even Lower, amirite?

by frida74 4 months ago

Having attended LSU, Raising Canes was great cheap drunk food 20 years ago. Portions and quality have decreased while prices have insanely increased. Don't see much point in going anymore and haven't been in years despite there being numerous locations around.

by keshaun59 4 months ago

portions have decreased What?! I go to Canes and the portions have always been more than plenty. You're telling me they used to be even bigger? And for $10 for a Box Combo that seems fair for the amount you get

by Anonymous 4 months ago

10 years ago that same combo was like $5.

by Anonymous 4 months ago

You realize we've had crazy inflation in the past 10 years, right? $10 for a meal is cheap nowadays.

by Anonymous 4 months ago

Yeah. I guess it's just $5 more than I'm willing spend on it

by Anonymous 4 months ago

Yes the tenders used to me much bigger and the prices much lower. That's what made it so popular in its early days.

by keshaun59 4 months ago

I feel like you still get plenty of food for a decent price tho, at least with the Box Combo. I've never left Canes feeling hungry or like I needed more food, I usually leave feeling a little guilty for how much i ate lmao.

by Anonymous 4 months ago

The chicken fingers used to be significantly bigger. When they began expanding outside of Louisiana they got smaller.

by Boyerfrancesca 4 months ago

In my area, a three piece combo is one of the cheapest fast food meals in town and there's enough food to really fill me up to the point where sometimes I can't eat it all.

by frank63 4 months ago

It was hyped a bit back but now people are discovering it's overrated

by Anonymous 4 months ago

Finally, someone else who thinks this! My coworkers all love Raising Cane's and some of them go once or even twice a week. I just don't get it. The chicken is fine but it's nothing to write home about. I'll like it enough if I go but it would never be my first choice for a place to eat.

by Anonymous 4 months ago

Well everyone has different tastes. I think it's good especially for fast food.

by Wymanjena 4 months ago

Yeah I get that, but if that's how all of them taste I just find it hard that so many people like it. This raising canes could definitely just have been a bad one or had a bad day, but it's really tainted my opinion

by frida74 4 months ago

That might be it. I think it's better than most fast food chains but not amazing. However, I don't really like that kind of fast food in general (I don't think I've been to McDonald's/Wendy's/Burger King since I was a kid and if I want something cheap and fast then my first choice is usually Chinese or Indian takeout instead), so I'm probably just not the target audience for Raising Cane's.

by Anonymous 4 months ago

Oh dang I wonder why they let mine stay up

by frida74 4 months ago

Maybe they like canes 😆

by Anonymous 4 months ago

Zaxby's is better.

Where I lived, we had a Torchys Tacos right next to Raising Canes. I would get a small order of Canes and a queso dip at Torchys. This was infinitely better. Otherwise, I agree with your opinion on Canes.

All fast food is mid!! At best!

by Sagerippin 4 months ago

Canes chicken is just a vehicle for canes sauce. Did you have it with the sauce?

by hubert59 4 months ago

No, I said I wasn't much of a sauce guy and I know that's weird but the food shouldn't have to rely on sauce I feel

by frida74 4 months ago

It's chicken tenders. What was your expectation?

by jettie40 4 months ago

The main reason I don't enjoy Cane's is the fries. I don't enjoy eating a meal that's just fried chicken and mid crinkle fries.

by Dramatic-Narwhal 4 months ago

Every time I've had it it has been dry and bland.

by NoInspection4446 4 months ago

The Canes by me only gets business on Sundays when the Chick Fil A across the street is closed

by Johathanterry 4 months ago

same. they just opened the first one around me in Enfield connecticut and lines wrapped around the area for weeks afterword. I finally got to try it and the sauce was the only good thing. The chicken was bland, undercooked and just gross. It was like those chicken fingers you get from chinese food places, with less flavor. The fries were soggy and nasty. I don't get the hype.

by Anonymous 4 months ago

It was far better like 10 years ago.

by sschinner 4 months ago

Almost no seasoning whatsoever. I'm the only white person on my team at work and it's always referred to as "white people chicken." I can't argue. My kids like it (because it's so bland) and thinking hard I have never seen non-white folks there. That's just funny to me. Seriously, the grocery store by the office has far better tenders and sauces, and they're cheaper. But the real jam is the Incan chicken place, or the Afghani chicken place, or the Nashville chicken place, or the Korean chicken place…all in walking distance from work, and all locally owned.

by Free_Most_884 4 months ago

I just hate how stringy the chicken is. It always got stuck in my teeth.

by Anonymous 4 months ago

Sht is ass

by Anonymous 4 months ago

it's pretty average. the other thing was the pure lack of sauce options in general. i've known a couple of other chicken sando / specialty outlets that are the same way in thinking that offering little more than their own "special wow" sauce is somehow an amazing marketing decision. somehow that protects their brand, and ask them for some bbq or anything else and they look at you like you're crazy.

by Anonymous 4 months ago

Cane's is all about the sauce. Their sauce is incredible, but yeah, the chicken itself is pretty bland.

by Anonymous 4 months ago

100% it's ass. Dry and no real flavor. Popeyes spicy sammie is the fast food chicken GOAT

by Anonymous 4 months ago

I was so disappointed when I tried it. Honestly think tenders from a grocery store deli are better and half the price.

by Specific_Pipe 4 months ago

Honestly it feels like they're hard carried by their canes sauce. If you don't get the sauce it's some of the blandest chicken you've ever had.

by Anonymous 4 months ago

Makes me sad because their chicken is actually good chicken just blander then idk what

by frida74 4 months ago

Wonder if that's why they give it to you every order?

by Desperate_Classic 4 months ago

My son loves it, and that's the only reason I go. Popeyes, Chick-fil-A are much better.

by Anonymous 4 months ago

I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago and it was the worst fast food I've had. Even the sauce everyone swears by tastes like an off brand chick fil a sauce. Bland crappy chicken and fries, way tooexpensive, sauce is mid, the only thing that was actually good was the texas toast imo.

by Anonymous 4 months ago

Their sauce tastes literally nothing like Chic-Fil-A sauce.
