-160 seconds of being cranky, bitchy, whiny, etc etc is one minute of happiness you will never get back in your life. I as a good old country Aussie fella have noticed a drastic change in peoples mindset and attitudes over the last 10 years. We used to always be "she'll be right mate", "no worries" and happy go lucky. Now it seems that people only like to display abusive posts, posts complaining about something as simple as a wind change!!!! Can I ask where the bloody hell did we go wrong? I refuse to get upset or angry as I don't seem to get what it achieves. Why as a boss would you want to yell and scream at another human being? Or just one random person abusing another random person. Who is above anyone in this world? Absolutely nobody is, No matter the size of your wealth, your house, your car or your circle of friends, we all get put in the same sized hole at the end of it. I work in an industry where it can be dangerous and any wrong move or word can change the course of the day for the worse. I love it, I do it because I love it and I wouldn't want to do anything else for the remainder of my working life. The cheapest thing you can do that can easily have the biggest effect is SMILE. If I can make one person smile then you know what, the world is just that tiniest bit happier. A smile is free and its rewards endless. I go down to the city and I notice if you say g'day or smile at someone they are so quick to either avoid you or seem as though they are waiting for something bad to happen. What the heck happened there? I love life and I am not a fan of social media forums from a perspective of how it has detached human interaction. I go out for tea with my wife and kids and I can look around and see parents on their phones or tablets, (no doubt taking a photo of what their eating or drinking!!! what the hell?) then you have the kids on either of those devices or a dvd player etc. Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to just stay at home and do that? On the other hand social media has allowed people to interact and communicate with long lost friends or family that they may not be able to ring long distance and spend considerable amount of time talking on an expensive phone to. My last point I want to add here is the welfare service. How is it that we pay a person in this country that has contributed to taxes and the economy for at least 30-40 years a minimum pension of approximately $16,000 a year. Yet you can come to this country as a person with limited English or skills, and can get in excess of $50,000 in cash and incentives. I am all for multiculturalism as it is amazingly insightful and what makes us a special country. However, should we not be eligible for welfare for a minimum 2 years from your arrival in this country? The other one is "the dole." As a job seeker you could be eligible for it for 2 years only, then after that if you wish to receive it then you must enrol in the Army. Get a great skillset the money is still staying in the country and we are going to be paying it regardless. Instil respect, self worth, and the ability to become fully qualified. This could easily have an 80% strike rate. Thankyou for reading my dribble I have just typed. It is my first blog and all it is is my opinion and nothing else.... Have a bloody great day and smile Cheers
