+36The problem with pure democracy is that it does not always approach a subject with a rational view. Instead, emotion becomes the sole tool used to decipher which direction to take. This will lead to a bias decision that is near opposite of what would have been decided with logic. Thus, when there is democracy and it lead by emotion, what is inevitable is the encroachment of Locke's stated Natural Rights and, through Rousseau's philosophy, Hobbes' is born: government with absolute power.
Locke's writing carried the idea that the government's only purpose was to protect private property due to his claim on what the nature of man is: peaceful and rational; he spoke of Natural Rights that should not be infringed by the government. Rousseau believed that the government's role was to carry out the general will of the public; he did not speak of any sort of natural right except that of democracy; he claimed thay if freedom and democracy collide it is democracy that should be accepted.
-8"A society based on and geared to the conceptual level of man's consciousness, a society dominates by a philosophy of reason, has no place for the rule of fear and guilt. Reason requires freedom, self-confidence and self-esteem... Intellectual freedom cannot exist without political freedom; political freedom cannot exist without economic freedom; a free mind and a free market are corollaries." -Ayn Rand
+21"The man who lives by brute force, at the whim and mercy of the moment, lives on a narrow island suspended in a fog of the unknown, where invisible threats and unpredictable disasters can descend upon him any morning. He is willing to surrender his consciousness to the man who offers him protection against those intangible questions which he does not wish to consider, yet dreads." -Ayn Rand
+19"[The liberties given by the Constitution] are only protected by a parchment- by words. They may be destroyed whenever it shall be admitted that the strict and common sense of words may be construed away." -Albert Gallatin, 1799. There was a reason why the greatest minds this country had to offer spent four months in Independence Hall drafting what would be the most important document in the world. Know the Constitution. Know your freedoms.
-48As evident in the L.A. Riots, someone cannot save his family or his business from a violent and merciless mob with only a pistol. Assult rifles are necessary. It's a scary concept, but it's real.

-49The laws of the Constitution of the United States of America do not change over time; the "living, breathing Constitution" is bound by the same ideals that the tyrannical king held when he wanted more control over the colonies.
+3"Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest." -Mahtma Gandhi
+19“The Founding Fathers never envisioned executive orders being used to restrict our constitutional rights. We live in a republic, not a dictatorship. The president should not be able to act unilaterally when it comes to our constitutional rights. Executive orders were meant as a way for the president to implement legislatively passed laws, not to make law.” -Jeff Duncan, House of Representatives on Gun Control
