True, I apologize, I forgot the mention of the original Greek texts you had mentioned. But seeing as how Jesus, or I believe Jesua at the time, was a fairly common at the time and place, it would be like saying the second coming must be true, because Jesus lives in Mexico. Haha. My point there were probably a lot of people named Jesus at the time, and that lends no credibility to their claims. Haha.
I think the problem with poverty, is our government, and other governments would rather find ways to kill each other, instead of finding ways to help everyone. If as a species, we took the money out of our military budgets, and put it into a group science fund, (the best scientists from each nation work together on problems that effect their countries, and advancing the technologies,) this would make the world a better more peaceful place. And just think of how advanced we could be in like 20 years. Flying cars, teleportation, true virtual reality, superfoods, terraforming, etc... The possibilities are endless.
because his dad, who is also himself, as well as all powerful, couldn't find a better way to follow his own teachings on forgiveness, and just had to kill something for the sins of a man and a woman from the beginning of time who couldn't know any better until they disobeyed God and learned that disobeying God was wrong.
And we (atheists) think that the Christians who devote themselves to this God are foolish in their endeavors, however if they leave me, and politics, alone, I have no problem with them practicing whatever faith they want, in their private lives. My problem arises when they (Christians) try to convince me I was born evil, and and deserve eternal punishment, because of a sin committed by the first human, then when I point out the flaws in their position, they scream persecution. Also they need to stay out of politics, there is absolutely no reason that gays shouldn't get married, aside from religious people saying its icky, and God doesn't like it.
I'm assuming you're not talking about the whole bible, just the New Testament, because the Old Testament has the least amount of love in any religion. Most of the teachings of Jesus you will find, when you look at the Buddha's teachings. The love your neighbor as yourself, treat others as you want to be treated, No killing, No stealing, No lying, No sexual misconduct, and many more similarities I don't want to write them all down, but I will post a link http://buddha-christ.info/similarities.html
So this is just one religion, and Buddha came nearly 500 years before Jesus. Christianity, is not the only religion that teaches love and peace, almost all religions teach those concepts. I challenge you to find one that doesn't teach people to love and be peaceful.
First off I don't believe that Jesus actually existed, but the teachings in the bible, say, sell all that you own and give to the poor. Hate to tell this to you, but jesus, if he existed, was a commie.
The main problem with capitalism is it requires employers to reward hard-working, productive employees. I worked at my job for 2 years, were all the managers, had told the GM, and Owners that I was the hardest worker there, I was the fastest, I had the most, and the best, customer comments, and the managers told the boss I deserved a raise. The boss came up to me, said good job, and that was it, after working there for another 8 months I finally found another job that would pay me $.25 more. Employers don't reward hard work. Not anywhere I've worked. I think I saw one person ever get a raise in the 9 years I worked in fast food.
The best thing a woman can do to defend herself is train in Krav Maga, or Haganah, from an acredited instructor. Not take a class, but continually train.
I do think minimum wage is shit compared to where it should be at. If it had kept up with inflation it would be much higher. But businesses and CEOs realized if they can buy politicians to stop them from keeping minimum wage up with the inflation, they can pocket the difference. That's why CEOs in the U.S. Are payed 475x that of the average worker. The next highest country is Venezuela, with 50x the average worker.
Because creationists want their unfounded claims that a wizard in the sky created the world, in exact form, in 6 days, taught alongside the tested, scrutinized, peer reviewed, scientific theory of evolution. And if you think evolution is just a theory, you don't know what a scientific theory is.
I see it differently, I see consumption will increase, which means that demand for products will increase, which will drive production up, and possibly even cause an increase in wealth. But we will just have to wait and see

Probably a lot more logical than the Christians view of the world. For starters I wouldn't burn the people who don't think I'm real.

So there is no reason to believe in God, let alone worship him/her/it.

For self defense yes, HaganaH and Krav Maga, are all about overwhelming, and quickly disabling your opponent.

Because it makes their God an ever receding pocket of the unknown.
