If you think gay marriage has to be banned so your marriage is more "special" (I can't think of a better word), then it probably wasn't in the first place.
I think the Old Testament of the Bible is an mostly allegorical. And also, the more I learn about things like evolution, the more I believe in God. Of course evolution isn't in the Bible, they didn't know about it when it was written, so how could it be.
Exactly. According to the Bible, Eve ate the apple off the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. People who interpret the Bible allegorically (like me) believe that this was when humans lost the knowledge of God. (So whenever we judge, we grow more distant from God.)
I don't treat the Bible as a science or history book because, yes, it does have many contradictions. I believe, mostly, in what Jesus taught: feeding the poor, healing the sick, and loving everybody. Jesus was a long-haired, homeless hippie, and essentially the first liberal, so many Christians nowadays ruin this image by using his name to oppress others.

The same can be said about Communism.
Yeah, @259060 (MeilK): That isn't really an excuse, and I'm sure your girlfriend/wife would understand.
I still do.

Many people also forget that a lack of faith does not mean disproof
That is my exact opinion. It just isn't fair to us.
I was actually playing Animal Crossing when I thought of this post. Great minds think alike!

I know! Learning about evolution just makes me think that God's just that much cooler!
I know I do it subconsciously to other Christians...

Cats and Dogs came out first, and they are completely different.
But I can't really put that because I'm a guy... but that is true.
A lot of the time I just tell people I'm Agnostic because it's simpler to explain.
