Hey now. I wasn't going to respond to this but that's enough. My parents were both legal immigrants to this country and they both worked their ASSES work to get where they are today. They took slurs, disgusted looks, and rude people overall and turned the other cheek. Point is, you need to prove yourself if you are an immigrant and that's exactly want they did. I'm all for immigration into this country, but it's also important to establish yourself as a worthy person and deal with the people who don't support you. Stuff just doesn't get handed to you and the fact that you made it this far is good news enough. So please don't complain that immigrants aren't treated fairly when basic human rights are at stake here as well, alright?

Religions attempts to rationalize the unexplainable. All these insane rationalizations are eventually disproved. Before weather science, religions claimed the cause of natural disasters was the sole result of the will of God. Before evolution was adopted as a factual process by rational humans, theists believed God created each individual separately. One day, the creation of the universe will have an irrefutable scientific explanation. The only question is what religions will grasp at then.

Mr. Atheist
Read the post again... the post really isn't related to this. I'm simply stating that every claim religion makes is eventually disproved. You can believe in science and religion, but when science disproves a religious claim again the world's religions will likely adapt a new unexplained event that they claim is from God. The process continues like this and has been doing so for ages.

Every claim religion (and the post is talking about Abrahamic religions) makes is eventually EXPLAINED by science. Not disproved. Just because we understand evolution better now does not mean that it proves an omnipotent being had no part in it.
Just because we have an idea of the big bang doesn't mean there isn't a God who intended that to happen.
Please separate theocracy with theism in your mind, because it's unfair to use the stupid moves of people in charge (using weather as a moral punishment) as evidence that there is no God.

Good result? With almost two hundred civilians dead and thousands injured? But of course nobody cares because they aren't Israeli.
And it's not like the cease fire has been held up because Israel continues to attack the Palestinians shooting and killing mostly children.
And it won't stay that way because Israel won't stop until Palestine ceases to exist.

The ratio of civilian/terrorist deaths is the best ratio of any country in the world that is fighting asymmetrical warfare against terrorists who hide behind civilians. It is far better than the ratio achieved by Great Britain and the United States in Iraq or Afghanistan, where both nations employ targeted killings of terrorist leaders.
So yeah, great result actually. It seems like you forget we're in war, civilians die. During that war, Israel dropped leaflets into the Gaza warning them for attacks, they dropped 'Roof Knockers', which are loud but non-lethal bombs warning people they are in a targeted zone, they used pinpoint strike to minimize harm to bystanders and they actually had a couple of aborting airstrikes, you can look all of this up. What did the Hamas do to minimize harm to Israeli civilians? Nothing. Thank **** for the Iron Dome Defense system, otherwise the Farj-5 missiles which the Hamas received from Iran would've directly hit Tel-Aviv and wouldn't have been shot out of the sky.

Your favorite part of the Bible is when God gave Earth free will and then flooded it for not doing what he wanted
1853 Comments +77 / 72%
My favorite part of the Bible is context. You realize you are oversimplifying to the point of creating a logical fallacy, right?
Look at it this way. If you indeed are a created being, would not the creator have absolute freedom to do anything with you—his creation? Do you really feel qualified in your position to question your maker? The Bible also says God sustains his creation on a continual basis. If God suddenly decided he was tired of holding the universe together, he could just let it all go. We'd vanish. Yet here you are—living, breathing, and questioning. You don't take your questions far enough, though. You go just far enough to find excuses to doubt God. Why do you need to do this? What have you to gain? An absolution from guilt for something you are doing that you know isn't right? That's only human nature, but human nature is corrupted. Don't follow human nature; follow Christ.

When did I say I had a hardship? I don't give a **** who insults me. I didn't claim that my life is miserable because I'm a christian. I just said that people insult Christians for no reason. If you knew anything about Christianity you'd know that the main teaching is to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Therefore, anyone who hates gay people or hates people of different color or anything else like that is not a christian. That's my point. There isn't a problem with christianity, there's a problem with some people who call themselves christians.

Girlfriends are like a fine vase. Theyre pretty, make you feel good about yourself, tie your room together and make you happy. Then one day you may take it for granted and accidently bump it off that table its on. in that second when you catch it before it hits the ground and breaks, you realize how much that vase means to you. youll do anything to keep it from breaking. though days come where you question that vase, you remember the day you almost lost it and that will make all the difference. amirite?

Guns aren't going anywhere. There is no reason to let emotions run wild and ban firearms. Israel has had no school shooting since it adopted a policy that arms teachers on school grounds almost 40 years ago. Thailand has had school shootings drop drastically since they employed the same policy eight years ago. Kennesaw, Georgia hasn't had a single homicide in 25 years since requiring every household to own a firearm. We need MORE guns in the hands of responsible citizens.

Yes, arming a society definitely won't have any future backlash and consequences. That's all I'm going to say OP, since I don't want you arguing with me, like you have been doing with EVERYONE who commented. But keep this in mind, by legally forcing every household to be armed, you're allowing families like Honey-Boo-Boo to run amuck and be dangers to themselves and society. If you maintain that homosexuals should not be allowed to get married because your religion opposes it, that implies that you believe marriage is something that belongs to your own religion. But since people of all different religions (and lack thereof) get married, I don't see how that can be valid. It would work as an argument against your religion/church allowing homosexual marriages, but same-sex marriage support is not about changing churches and religions.

Some people don't believe in gay marriage for religious reasons, but they still understand that there is a separation of church and state and understand that it is not their right to stop gay marriage, so I don't think all believe marriage to belong to their own religion. Just because you don't support gay marriage doesn't mean you're against it. I'm not saying what you said was wrong, just that this is another stance people take.

It's a biological equivalent of using a jetpack in a high jump contest. It's not his own achievement, but one gained by using chemicals that give an edge over the competition that he didn't work for. That being said, it doesn't make his charity worth less, just his cycling achievements. Also, if everyone used performance-enhancing drugs, it would be okay because everyone's equal again.
And any athletes caught cheating are treated the same way. And he was supposed to show that cancer doesn't have long-lasting effects because you can still beat people who have never had cancer. All that is now called into question.
