This post reeks of ignorance. Of course there is a reason why Bush's popularity gradually fell. His approval topped out at 90% just after 9/11, started falling, conveniently rested at 51% in November 2004, before bottoming out in the 20s by the time he left office. Read his wikipedia article for an unbiased history of his Presidency and you can see why many consider him a poor President. He placed a ban on stem-cell research; handled Afghanistan poorly after the fall of the Taliban and allowed Bin Laden to escape at Tora Bora; invaded Iraq against the will of the U.N. and most Western nations on the false premise of weapons of mass destruction , and proceeded to draw out the conflict which subsequently caused a civil war; pushed through the PATRIOT Act, which widely expanded the power of the government to spy on its people; passed No Child Left Behind, which furthered the education gap between the U.S. and the Western world; botched the handling of Hurricane Katrina; passed detrimental tax cuts that erased the Clinton surplus and sent the debt skyrocketing; etc.
Marriage has a different definition for different people. In some places marriage is a contract that builds ties between two families in the form of an arranged marriage. Other places use marriage to show that a man owns a woman. And yet other people just use marriage for the tax beaks. No one knows for sure what started marriage, but we do know that marriage evolves and has very many different forms that have existed much longer than the marriage we know of today. Since marriage has changed before, I feel confident it will change again.
I seek a civil marriage and a commitment ceremony (no religion involved) so that my girlfriend and I can have all the rights awarded to married people and to show the world that we are committed to one person for the rest of our lives. I will call it a marriage because that's what it will be to me. I will have a wife, we will have children, and we will be just like any other couple that gets married because they're in love. Our sex shouldn't matter.
PEOPLE?! THAT'S OFFENSIVE TO GAYS AND JEWS!

(Schrodinger's Cat): Morbidly obese?! That's offensive to mildly obese people!
