Sugar is also addictive, like alcohol or tobacco, and those are regulated. Food companies are slowly adding more and more sugar to their foods, making us more and more addicted. Why can't it be regulated like other addictive products?

It seems like everyone is already moving toward English already. It's the most widely spoken second language. Why would we go through the trouble of making a brand new one? English isn't perfect, but it would be a whole lot if effort to try to make everyone learn an entirely new language.

So why is it ok to be offended by racism or homophobia, but childish or immature to be offended by certain words. Why should OP have to "grow up"? Why not homosexuals or minorities? Because a lot of people are offended by racism and homophobia? That makes it ok to be offended? Well, a lot of people are offended by swearing, shouldn't that be ok, too?
That's not really fair. Clearly swearing offends that person, but not you. What if something you found offensive started pervading tv? Like homophobia or racism or something. You would probably be incensed. It's not fair to deride someone for not liking something that's on tv.
Perhaps it has to do with the fact that society no longer depends on the traditional "manly skill set" like it once did.
